In this study, a literature review was conducted on various research works, and those with a common objective were selected, which was to determine a specific respiratory rehabilitation protocol for COPD patients. The study was approached with a qualitative methodology since the goal was not to quantify the types of exercises and techniques corresponding to a specific treatment for COPD patients. Therefore, those techniques and exercises possible to perform in therapy were described. This study was confirmed that physical exercise is a fundamental tool for addressing COPD patients to improve their quality of life in all aspects, although it was not possible to determine at which stage of COPD each exercise can be carried out. Therefore, it is deemed appropriate to conduct further research to describe this with greater clarity. The diabetic foot is the product of a laceration of the foot which is a consequence of the chronic disease diabetes where the healing time is altered and extended, generating greater risk in life, a decrease in the person's quality of life and a greater cost to the health system. The treatment carried out for the diabetic foot becomes extensive and affects the mobility of the ankle joint, leaving it rigid, which is called ankle ankylosis, losing the functionality of the joint, which causes gait dysfunction. The proposal of this manuscript is to demonstrate the importance of movement in rehabilitation, generating a global approach to the person, encompassing prevention and treatment. In SMA, postzygotic somatic mutations occur in the Gs protein gene (GNAS1) and an increase in cAMP, modifying the formation of osteoblasts and increasing bone resorption by osteoclasts, denying the hereditary nature of this disease and the possibility of rapid bone consolidation. Objective: To point out the need to deepen the knowledge of the disease for early detection and multidisciplinary care in order to avoid the consequences. Method: Retrospective observational study of the clinical history of a patient treated in the orthopedic service of the San Isidro General Hospital in Tocoa, Honduras. Results: A 13-year-old patient was admitted to the orthopedic service due to a pathological fracture of the right humerus, in which lytic lesions were observed in the humerus, radius, femur and tibia on the same side, as well as varus deformity of the right hip; café-au-lait spots on the chest and abdomen that did not respect the midline; Tanner 4 breast and pubic bone, vaginal bleeding at 3 months of age, hyperthyroidism and microprolactinoma; pathological fractures of the neck of the femur and right tibia on two occasions at 3 years of age and surgery at 6 years of age. It is interesting to note that the patient's mother had café-au-lait spots on the dorsal region. Plaster treatment of the humerus fracture was performed, achieving bone consolidation at 10 weeks. The asymmetric appearance of the spots in the patient and the rapid bone consolidation are rare clinical aspects of the syndrome. The irregular treatment of her illness and its complications generated sequelae in the patient, which limited her quality of life, highlighting the need for early detection of the disease and multidisciplinary care. Some of these biomarkers are linked to muscle fatigue, the risk of sports injuries, and persistent inflammation in high-intensity exercisers. Studies show that athletes with signs and symptoms of periodontal disease are more likely to suffer recurrent muscle injuries. Inflammatory mediators shared by PD and high-intensity exercise may be linked to an increased risk of fatigue, repeated muscle injuries, and a potential worsening of both PD and muscle function, which subsequently causes plasma creatine kinase (CK) leakage. Studies show that, in the presence of PD, salivary CK concentrations were increased in periodontitis. Other studies show that saliva can be used to detect muscle damage. Therefore, the objective of this work is to investigate the relationship between periodontal disease and sports performance, measurable by salivary biomarkers such as creatine kinase (CK). A Narrative Review Abstract: Background and Objective: Total hip arthroplasty (THA) represents one of the most successful orthopedic interventions for treating degenerative and traumatic hip pathologies. This narrative review aims to critically analyze current evidence regarding contemporary surgical approaches in THA, the role of computer-assisted technology, and determinant factors influencing clinical outcomes. Methods: A comprehensive narrative literature review was conducted covering publications from 2010 to 2025 across PubMed, Scopus, SciELO, SpringerLink, and Google Scholar databases. Inclusion criteria comprised studies with sample sizes ≥30 patients, functional assessment using validated scales (Harris Hip Score, WOMAC, SF-36), and minimum three-month follow-up. Original articles, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, randomized controlled trials, and academic theses in English or Spanish were included. Results: Minimally invasive approaches including SuperPATH (Supercapsular Percutaneous Assisted Total Hip) and direct anterior approach (DAA) demonstrate significant advantages over traditional posterior approach, including reduced intraoperative bleeding, decreased postoperative pain, and accelerated functional recovery. Meta-analyses involving over 1,500 patients confirm SuperPATH superiority in terms of blood loss reduction, shorter hospital stays, and lower dislocation rates. Intraoperative navigation technology improves acetabular component positioning accuracy, with up to 98% of implants placed within optimal anteversion and abduction ranges (15°-25° anteversion, 40°-45° abduction). Institutional surgical volume emerges as a critical determinant factor, with high-volume centers (>100 annual procedures) reporting significantly lower complication rates, reduced mortality, and improved functional outcomes. Conclusions: Contemporary THA has evolved toward less invasive techniques with enhanced technological integration. The combination of minimally invasive surgical approaches, computer-assisted navigation, and centralization in high-experience centers represents the current trend for optimizing clinical and functional outcomes. Future directions include greater integration of robotic technology, advanced navigation systems, and personalized treatment approaches based on detailed preoperative analysis and three-dimensional modeling. It was highlighted that regular exercise not only strengthened physical health but also influenced cognitive, social, and emotional well-being. From an early age, the establishment of active habits prevented chronic diseases and laid the foundations for a healthy lifestyle, with immediate and long-term benefits. Development: Physical activity was defined as any bodily movement that increased energy expenditure above the basal level. In children aged 5 to 10, regular exercise promoted motor development, coordination, balance, and flexibility, as well as strengthening the cardiovascular, pulmonary, and muscular systems. The literature showed that physically active children achieved greater self-esteem, confidence, and social interaction skills. Academically, physical activity was associated with better school performance, greater concentration, and a greater willingness to learn. However, limitations persisted, such as a lack of resources, time, and teacher training, as well as differing attitudes among parents and educators. In response, schools became key spaces for implementing physical education programs, extracurricular activities, and active recess, contributing to the creation of a culture oriented toward well-being. Conclusions: The study concluded that physical activity in childhood was a decisive factor for health and comprehensive education. Overcoming structural and cultural barriers required the joint commitment of families, teachers, and authorities. Thus, promoting physical activity in children not only had an impact in the present but also projected lasting benefits for future quality of life. Carrying out these activities does not require stopping activities in the company, it is enough to take a few minutes every two hours for the worker to do the various types of exercises. This research aims to measure the level of active practices in the personnel of the Santo Domingo Fire Department, 2024. Methodologically, it was developed under the quantitative approach as a descriptive level field research, with a basic purpose and with a non-experimental cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 95 active workers of the fire department to whom a questionnaire was applied that, through a scale, allowed measuring the level of active breaks. As main results, the majority of firefighters are between 18 and 30 years old (48.4%), with a predominance of the male gender (57.9%) and working mainly in the operational area (58.9%). 13.7% take active breaks regularly, while 83.2% do so occasionally, indicating an urgent need to promote these breaks. Although 80% take short breaks occasionally, only 21.1% perform stretching exercises regularly. Overall, 61.05% of staff have an adequate level of active breaks in their work routine, while 38.94% maintain a moderate level of these practices, highlighting the importance of institutionalizing these practices to improve health, reduce stress and increase effectiveness in fulfilling their responsibilities. It pointed out that self-care was a learned and guided activity, while self-care deficits required nursing support systems. This perspective was linked to the workplace, where workers identified capabilities, limitations, and internal and external factors that influenced their well-being. Active breaks were highlighted as a concrete practice of self-care, preserving health and preventing illnesses that affected productivity and performance. DEVELOPMENT The history of “break gymnastics” was described from its origins in Europe to its institutionalization in Japan and its worldwide expansion. Active breaks were defined as short exercises involving breathing, stretching, joint mobility, coordination, and flexibility, performed during the workday to recover energy and reduce fatigue. Physiological, psychological, social, and economic benefits were highlighted, including a decrease in accidents, increased productivity, and reduced healthcare costs. It was recommended that they be practiced twice a day for five to ten minutes. Barriers such as lack of time, space, or management support were also noted, as were facilitators such as a culture of self-care and adequate organization. In addition, they were related to ergonomics, the prevention of sedentary lifestyles, and performance evaluation, factors that conditioned their effectiveness. CONCLUSION The analysis concluded that integrating Orem's theory with active breaks strengthened health and work performance. The sustainability of these programs depended on institutional commitment, ergonomic design, and fair evaluations. Consolidating a culture of self-care represented a low-cost, high-impact strategy for achieving healthy and humanized work environments. The aim of this review was to map the existing evidence on respiratory rehabilitation programs implemented in Portugal. Method: A rapid literature review was carried out, following the recommendations of Cochrane Rapid Reviews, PICoS strategy and PRISMA guidelines. Evidence was sought regarding the implementation of programs, services offered and user needs. The search included EBSCOHost and B-on databases, with study selection by two independent reviewers. Results: Twelve articles were included, presenting a high level of evidence and medium to high methodological quality. Inductive thematic analysis revealed central topics: program organization, accessibility, transition pathways, benefits, structures, management, and user perspectives. Conclusion: Several variables influence the success of programs, such as high costs, geographic inequalities, insufficient supply and limited capacity of the hospital network. Alternatives such as home-based programs, telerehabilitation and community initiatives show promise for expanding access to and effectiveness of respiratory rehabilitation. These findings suggest that the integration of innovative approaches can contribute to overcoming current limitations, promoting improvements in patients' quality of life. Proper management is crucial for the quality of life of affected individuals, often requiring caregiver involvement. Rehabilitation Nursing plays a central role in empowering the caregiver, ensuring continuity of care after the hospital period. Objective: To describe the outcomes of caregiver training in managing neurogenic bladder in individuals with spinal cord injury, conducted by a Rehabilitation Nursing Specialist, focusing on promoting autonomy and empowerment of both the person and their family. Methods: Case report based on the CARE guidelines, detailing the intervention of the Rehabilitation Nursing Specialist in training the individual's father. The results were measured using the Barthel Index, the Functional Independence Measure, and knowledge gains. Results: The active involvement of the caregiver in neurogenic bladder management allowed for continuity of care during the post-hospital period, minimizing risks and promoting a smoother adaptation to the home environment. Caregiver empowerment contributed to reduced institutional dependence and a safer transition to the community setting. Conclusion: Caregiver training proved to be essential for managing neurogenic bladder, facilitating rehabilitation and preserving the autonomy of individuals with spinal cord injury. The intervention by the Rehabilitation Nursing Specialist, grounded in Orem's Self-Care Theory and Meleis' Transition Theory, highlights the need for a holistic and participative approach in rehabilitation. Objective: This review aims to identify the main nursing interventions in the rehabilitation of people with spinal cord injury who present a neurogenic bowel. Methods: A rapid literature review based on the Cochrane guidelines was carried out by searching databases on the EBSCO Host and PubMed platforms. Articles in English, published between 2018 and 2024, with free access and addressing nursing interventions for the management of neurogenic bowel were included. Results: Narrative synthesis was carried out using thematic analysis to analyze the 7 articles included in the review. The following nursing interventions were found: digital rectal stimulation, abdominal massage, electrical rectal stimulation, diet management, stimulation of the gastro-colic reflex, muscular exercise and follow-up. Conclusions: Digital and electrical rectal stimulation were the most widely used, while dietary strategies proved important, but without standardized guidelines. Innovative technologies have shown promise, but accessibility can be a challenge. In addition, there is a significant gap in the literature on nursing interventions, as well as great heterogeneity in the studies analyzed. The combination of interventions has been shown to be effective in bowel management in adults with neurogenic bowel, post spinal cord injury. However, the lack of solid scientific evidence reinforces the need for more studies to validate the best nursing practices in this area. Display screens pose an increased risk of musculoskeletal disorders (MD) such as upper limb disorders. Objective: To map the relationship between the use of display screens and work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSD) among nurses, with a focus on identifying specific ergonomic risks and related psychosocial factors by nurses in a hospital setting. Methods: The recommendations of the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) for a scoping review were followed. All publicly available sources of information will be considered. Included studies published in English and Portuguese without geographical or cultural restrictions. Duplicates were removed, and two independent reviewers selected abstracts and evaluated the full text of the selected studies based on inclusion criteria. The study selection results will be displayed in a Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses extension for Scoping Reviews (PRISMA-ScR) flowchart. Results: 64 articles published between 2016 and 2021 were found, with 17 articles included. This allowed for the identification of MD as originating from shift work. Consequently, work-family conflict arises, with factors associated with risk being chronic occupational fatigue/burnout. The importance of MD prevention programs related to work is revealed, with benefits for nurses' health. Conclusions: Although WMSD is the main reason for high absenteeism rates among nurses, there is no scientific evidence that these injuries result from the use of display screens. Therefore, conducting studies aiming to correlate this usage with nurses' daily interventions is suggested. Respiratory failure caused by pneumonia generates a significant compromise in oxygenation, where therapy is essential. Recently, high-flow oxygen therapy has emerged as an alternative to conventional oxygen therapy in patients with severe respiratory failure. High-flow oxygen therapy consists of the application of a gas flow of up to 60 L/min through nasal cannulas. This system is tolerable by the patient because the inspired gas is heated and humidified (temperature 34-37°C, generating a relative humidity of 100 %). The effects of high-flow nasal cannula therapy are: less dilution of administered oxygen with room air, decreased dead space (and carbon dioxide scavenging), generation of positive airway pressure, increased circulating volume, decreased respiratory work and improved mucociliary transport. Material and methods: the study design is a systematic review for which a search and evaluation of the existing literature and previous research on high-flow nasal cannula was carried out through the databases of Pubmed, Google Academic, Cochrane Library, among others. . For this, inclusion criteria were used: adult patients over 18 years of age, patients with hypoxemia failure with pneumonia pathology, de novo hypoxemia. Written in Spanish and English. Results: an exhaustive bibliographic search was carried out through various academic storage sites such as Pubmed, Google Academic, Cohrane Library, among others. A total of 146 articles were found respecting the inclusion criteria, 9 were used to carry out this work. Conclusion: there are many pathologies that cause hypoxemia, this being a cause of great mortality. Describe the implementation of the use of high-flow nasal cannula, as well as its advantages compared to standard oxygen therapy treatments, offering medical personnel an alternative to having orotracheal intubation as the first choice. This provides great benefits to the patient, such as a shorter hospital stay. Reduces hospital and specialized personnel costs, the treatment with a high-flow nasal cannula is easy to use and has better patient tolerance. Due to the differing ages and physical conditions of the individuals studied and the various protocols used, the results obtained are highly controversial. Nevertheless, it is noteworthy that there is a significant increase in plasma testosterone levels when exercises of submaximal and maximal intensity are performed. Conversely, a significant decrease in this hormone occurs when exercise is prolonged to exhaustion, both in young and adult individuals, being more pronounced in those better conditioned. Objectives: to investigate the potential effects of testosterone treatment in combination with physical exercise in achieving an increase in muscle mass volume and tissue loss. Methods: s systematic review of the literature was conducted using PubMed/Medline, SciELO, SCALE, and Google Scholar databases from inception to October 2023. Clinical trials were sought using keywords related to testosterone, BMI, and steroids. This review included clinical studies whose primary objective is to investigate the potential effects of testosterone treatment in combination with physical exercise for gaining muscle mass volume and tissue loss. Results: exercise of submaximal and maximal intensity consistently increased plasma testosterone levels, while prolonged exercise leading to exhaustion showed a significant decrease, especially in wellconditioned individuals. However, the overall impact of testosterone treatment combined with exercise on muscle mass gain and tissue loss remains inconclusive and necessitates further rigorous investigation through controlled clinical trials. Conclusion: the literature review suggests a need for further rigorous clinical trials to ascertain the efficacy and safety of such combined interventions, considering potential adverse events associated with testosterone treatment. Early physical rehabilitation programs have been shown to effectively address issues such as swallowing difficulties and motor function impairment in the neck and shoulders, thereby improving the overall quality of life for patients. This study aimed to assess the impact of cranial base release in conjunction with swallowing exercises on the post-surgery recovery of patients undergoing total thyroidectomy. A 29-year-old male patient presented with swelling on the left side of the neck, along with pain during neck movements, speech difficulties, and swallowing issues. The patient's neck range of motion, swallowing impairment score, and neck pain and disability scale were measured both before and after treatment. The patient underwent a six-week rehabilitation program consisting of cranial base release, swallowing exercises, and conventional physiotherapy sessions twice daily. The combined approach of cranial base release and swallowing exercises resulted in significant improvements in neck range of motion, swallowing impairment score, and neck pain and disability scale for patients following total thyroidectomy. This study highlights the beneficial effects of integrating cranial base release with swallowing exercises in the rehabilitation of post-operative total thyroidectomy patient, offering promising outcomes for their recovery. However, the cholinergic system is essential for improving motor behavior responses. Objective: to analyze the effects of a nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR) agonist (1, 2, and 4 mg/kg) on the motor behavior of ischemic gerbils subjected to forced treadmill training. Methods: in this experimental study, 72 gerbils, weighing 65–80 g, were divided into eight groups: Sal, Ni1, Ni2, Ni4, I, INi1, INi2, and INi4. Behavioral assessment was initiated 24 hours after the last motor stimulation on the treadmill. Rotarod test (RR) was employed to analyze animal behavior. The data were analyzed using one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), and the Newman-Keuls post hoc test evidenced differences detected between groups. Results: data regarding the RR test revealed decreased time spent on the RR apparatus for the Ni1, Ni4, and I group compared to the Sal and Ni2 groups. However, the INi1 and INi2 groups showed increased time spent compared with the ischemia and INi4 groups (F7,64=4,63; p<0,05). Conclusions: the present study indicates that treadmill training with a concomitant 1 and 2 mg/kg of nAChR agonist effectively improves the behavior of ischemic gerbils. Recently, magnetic fields have gained significant interest in various biological contexts, showing promise in preserving neurons and reversing behavioral and morphological changes in stroke models. This study explores the potential synergy between static magnetic field and nAChR agonist administration in safeguarding motor behavior in ischemic gerbils. Objective: to determine whether the combined use of a static magnetic field and an agonist for nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChR) can preserve motor behavior in ischemic gerbils. Methods: in this experimental study, 72 Mongolian gerbils were randomly allocated into nine groups (n=8): S, SISM, SINSM, ISM, INP, ISP, INSM, INNP, INSP, distributed according to surgical procedure and treatment. The animals were trained and evaluated on the Rotarod (RR) to assess motor performance. Results: the main finding was the preservation of motor behavior in the Sham Ischemia and Nicotine and Sham Magnetic Stimulation (SINSM) and Ischemia and Nicotine and South Pole Magnetic Field (INSP) groups, as evidenced by the results of the RR test. Conclusions: the findings are consistent with previous literature and provide insight into the mechanism of potentiation, as results showed that adding a nAChR agonist to the magnetic field preserved motor performance in the RR test of ischemic animals. Psychotherapy, derived from the Greek roots "psyche" (mind) and "therapeia" (treatment), focuses on the treatment of mental and emotional problems through various psychological techniques. Originating from different psychological theories, psychotherapy has evolved into a diversified field with multiple approaches, including biological, behavioral, cognitive, and humanistic-existentialist. The history of mental health treatments is addressed, from ancient practices based on magic and bodily moods to the development of more modern techniques such as animal magnetism, hypnosis, and behavioral therapy. The contemporary approach to psychotherapy recognizes the importance of cognitions and metacognitions in mental health. Third-generation therapies, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, emphasize the importance of context and adaptability in the treatment of mental disorders. Its global prevalence is 0,5-1 % in adults, increasing to 5 % in women over 55 years old. RA reduces the quality of life and life expectancy by 3-10 years, mainly due to associated cardiovascular diseases. Current treatment is based on initiating early disease-modifying therapy with the goal of suppressing inflammation, inducing remission, preventing joint damage, and improving functionality. Antirheumatic medications include non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, glucocorticoids, non-biological immunosuppressants like methotrexate, and biological immunomodulators such as anti-TNF or anti-interleukins, which have shown high clinical effectiveness. However, there is individual variability in therapeutic response, adverse effects, and loss of efficacy over time. This study conducted a systematic literature review following the PRISMA methodology. The search was performed on PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science, using MESH terms and keywords related to rheumatoid arthritis, treatments, effectiveness, and prognostic factors. Studies published between 2015-2022 were included, ultimately selecting 30 articles that met eligibility criteria. The objective of this review was to compile and synthesize available evidence on currently used medications and therapies for rheumatoid arthritis, factors associated with therapeutic success, and the most frequently reported complications or adverse effects. The results contribute to enhancing treatment strategies, considering a personalized approach based on each patient's needs. In addition, it is essential to provide students with a space for active listening that gives them meaning, empowerment, and emancipation and fosters communication and social bonding in the classroom, generating a subjectivizing experience for teachers and students. Accompaniment also implies specific constitutive elements of each career, such as a language that reflects communication and professional identity and the integration of epistemic views that support a type of knowledge necessary for teaching. These elements, developed throughout the academic trajectory of each student, become the fundamental basis for generating institutional approaches, innovative didactic proposals, and diverse psycho-pedagogical interventions. In this context, interdisciplinary postures, based on complex thinking, offer an integrated development perspective for each student, allowing unique experiences in collaborative work among peers and teaching intervention. This is fundamental for their training and future performance in accompanying the school trajectories of children and adolescents, working in a collective and interdisciplinary way in schools. Emotions play an important role in allowing the regulation and adaptation of people to the environment, which is key to mental and physical health and well-being. However, little research analyzes the integration of these processes in preschoolers. The present study analyzes the emotional, cognitive, and physiological processing of 4- and 5-year-old girls and boys. Methods: forty-two 4- and 5-year-old children participated and were administered a Stroop-type task under a neutral or positive condition to analyze the effect of emotional valence on performance and heart rate. Results: an increase in heart rate was found during the Stroop-like task in both conditions. A decrease in heart rate was also observed in the positive condition of the task in the girl group and the 5-year-old group. Finally, heart rate variability correlated inversely with reaction time in the neutral condition. Discussion: the results show that cognitive demand increases heart rate beyond task valence and that positive valence decreases heart rate as a function of age and gender. These findings emphasize integrating individual characteristics when studying emotional, cognitive, and physiological processing during development and considering biopsychosocial health. This article contextualizes the work of our female teachers, identifies the causes, conflicts, physical and emotional symptoms brought about by inadequate interaction with the work environment. The research presented here is quantitative and qualitative, assuming as a basic condition to face this study, its dynamic, participative and transforming character. Due to its essence, the research will be descriptive, explanatory and participatory. We worked with an intentional sample of 50 female teachers working in seventh, eighth and ninth grades in four basic secondary schools located in the municipality of San Miguel del Padrón. A survey was applied to teachers to obtain information about our object of study. The emotional state of the female teachers analyzed and their job dissatisfaction are variables that affect their health, motivation, personal fulfillment and performance, thus also affecting the effectiveness of our educational institutions. The improvement of teachers, starting from considering the need to prevent work stress for an adequate professional performance in the context of performance, presupposes the design of various strategies that are conceived from the theoretical references of the historical-cultural approach, with a structure and operation that considers potential levels in correspondence with individual educational needs and adjusted to current conditions. It is necessary to have alternatives to carry out anthropometric measurements, given the costs of measuring instruments and the limited availability of such instruments in occupational health and safety services. Aim: to compare standing anthropometric measurements using anthropometric tables versus the Harpenden anthropometer. Methods: a descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out with a population of 26 workers (11 men and 15 women). The following measurements were taken in a standing position with the anthropometric tables and the Holtein Harpenden anthropometer: height, shoulder height, height at the middle finger, and length of the upper limb, using the Student's t-hypothesis test to compare both measurements. Results: the values of the anthropometric variables measured by both the anthropometric tables and the Harpenden anthropometer did not present significant statistical differences, both in men and women. Conclusions: the pilot test showed that using anthropometric tables in anthropometric studies constitutes a low-cost alternative. This research aims to determine the psychosocial factors at work and stress in the medical staff of a public institution. Research under the positivist, quantitative, observational, descriptive and cross-sectional paradigm. The population and census sample consisted of 15 medical profession workers. In the collection of information, three questionnaires from the Battery of instruments for the evaluation of psychosocial risk factors of the Ministry of Social Protection, Colombia (2010) were applied. The results show that women predominated (80,0 %), where (46,7 %) was single, with an average age and seniority of 32 years and 10 years respectively. As for psychosocial work factors, high and very high risk levels were found in 53,3 %, with extra-work conditions being the most unfavorable, associated with the economic situation of the family group (80,0 %), characteristics of the home and the environment (73,3 %) and home-work-home displacement (73,3 %). On the other hand, 40,0 % of the personnel studied perceived high and very high risk levels of stress. Concluding that the population is exposed to occupational psychosocial factors, with the appearance of revealing symptoms of stress. Therefore, the use of corrective measures that help minimize possible damage to health is recommended. Sanchez Author-Name: Francisco Ibáñez Title: Physiological impact of breathing on health and stress level Abstract: Introduction: there are numerous publications comparing the results, of a group of people who practice a particular type of meditation for a certain period of time, called the evaluation group, with another group of people who do not meditate, commonly referred to as the control group, and statistics such as confidence intervals, "p" value, etc. are presented. On the impact of meditation on stress. While this work has had a great impact on a large number of people, there is still considerable disbelief, particularly in the academic and scientific world. Methods: a prototype heart rate recorder was built using an Arduino UNO board and an AD8232 Heart Rate Monitor, which uses the ECG principle for its operation. An algorithm was implemented for the detection and calculation of RR time intervals, based on the analog signal coming from the AD8232 sensor. Results: the frequency of the respiratory signal is higher than the frequency of the cardiac signal, in statistical terms, they are not correlated (correlation close to 0), while, on the right side, the frequencies of the two signals are similar (statistically, the correlation is close to 1), and in this case, it is said that the person acquires "cardiac coherence", or "coherent state". The 5-5 breathing pattern does not necessarily lead to this result. In addition to the breathing pattern used, the correlation between the respiratory and cardiac signal depends on other factors, related to the state of health and the level of stress. Conclusions: from the understanding of the benefits achieved by adopting a particular breathing pattern, the reader is motivated to experience the transformative potential that this technique can have on his or her own organism. The aim is to encourage one's own experience of the effectiveness of these techniques and, in turn, to awaken interest in exploring deeper physiological changes that can be achieved through more advanced meditation practices, which can have a significant impact on health and stress management. With the aim of describing the behavior of invasive and non-invasive modalities of mechanical ventilation in the Neonatology Service of the "Iván Portuondo" Hospital during the period from January 2020 to July 2021. We conducted a descriptive, retrospective, longitudinal study in which our universe was 597 newborns who required admission to the neonatal intensive care unit, and as a sample 112 of them who required assisted ventilation, during the period covered by the research. The invasive or non-invasive modalities were related to variables such as: gestational age, sex, birth weight, reasons and complications of ventilation, in addition to the duration of ventilation and survival of these newborns. It was possible to conclude that the application of the invasive modality predominated in male newborns weighing less than 1500 g and with a gestational age of less than 30 weeks. Coinciding with the literature, Hyaline Membrane Disease remained as the first cause requiring the use of mechanical ventilation, it has been possible to shorten the ventilation time, and there were fewer complications and better survival in the non-invasive modality. It is crucial to implement strategies that address these challenges, including psychological support and policies that promote work-life balance, to improve staff well-being and the quality of patient care Journal: Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine Pages: 36 Volume: 5 Year: 2025 Subtitle : DOI: 10.56294/ri202536 Handle: RePEc:dbk:rehabi:v:5:y:2025:i::p:36:id:36 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Constanza Errandonea Author-Name: Francisco Capani Title: Raloxifene as a neuroprotectant in an in vitro model of perinatal asphyxia Abstract: Introduction: perinatal asphyxia is one of the most common causes of morbidity and mortality in the neonatal period, with preterm newborns being the most affected and it is more frequent in developing countries. Objective: to describe the use of raloxifene as a neuroprotector in perinatal asphyxia. Method: a review of the literature selected by the authors was carried out, obtained through reference search engines, in which topics related to perinatal asphyxia and all the alterations produced by this pathology are included. Results: applying raloxifene to 7-day-old male Sprague-Dawley rats, which were submitted to a ligation of the common carotid artery, we obtained as results a decrease in the production of free radicals, among other processes, favoring neuronal viability through the conservation of mitochondria functions. Conclusion: in view of the lack of pharmacological treatments, certain international organizations, such as the World Health Organization and the United Nations Children's Fund, have emphasized research into new therapeutic alternatives. Today there is only one type of treatment approved and used for newborns suffering from perinatal asphyxia, therapeutic hypothermia. The use of raloxifene in a murine model promises to be an alternative, although it is still under investigation Journal: Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine Pages: 35 Volume: 5 Year: 2025 Subtitle : DOI: 10.56294/ri202535 Handle: RePEc:dbk:rehabi:v:5:y:2025:i::p:35:id:35 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Alexandre Matheus Villela Gherardi Author-Name: Patricia Susana Salguero Title: Use of Cannabis in people with autism spectrum disorder Abstract: Introduction: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by impaired communication, social interaction, and repetitive or stereotyped behaviors in those affected. It presents with a wide range of symptoms, which can vary from mild to severe. Method: a search was conducted in the PubMed, SciELO databases, and the book Cannabis Medicinal. Articles were downloaded from the cited platforms to make the appropriate citations and references in Portuguese, Spanish, and English, covering the last 5 years. Results: The use of medicinal cannabis in treating Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) has shown potential in improving symptoms such as hyperactivity, aggression, self-harm, sleep disturbances, and anxiety. Recent studies highlight that cannabinoids, particularly cannabidiol (CBD), may be a safe and effective option for relieving these symptoms and improving patients' quality of life. However, it is essential to have more robust and long-term research to assess its safety and adverse effects. Despite promising results, the need for professional monitoring and individualized treatment is emphasized to optimize benefits and mitigate possible risks. Conclusions: this treatment is highly individualized and personalized, encompassing not only pharmacological interventions but also dietary adjustments, supplements, and social behavior strategies, with cannabis use being a supplementary alternative. The approach to this type of fracture can be surgical or non-surgical, the treatment depends on factors that include mainly the degree of displacement of the bone fragment, joint instability, and the location of the fracture within the anatomy of the bone. The surgical approach or conservative treatment generates great questions when choosing the best method for the treatment of stable scaphoid fractures, with conservative management currently being the most widely used. The systematic review aims to determine whether surgical treatment can supplant orthopedic treatment. Material and methods: a manual literature search was performed in the PubMed database during the period from 2004 to 2022. The keywords included "Scaphoid Bone"; “Fractures, Bone” and "Therapeutics". The titles, abstracts and full articles were examined, extracting the data. Fourteen articles consisting of systematic reviews and meta-analyses were selected, as well as five publications composed of "Randomized Controlled Trial" and "Clinical Trial" studies. No language restrictions were applied. Results: five jobs were selected after applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, two groups were formed, one that underwent surgical treatment and the other a conservative approach. The time of return to work was evaluated being faster in surgical treatment versus conservative, as well as complications in both treatments, with surgical approach having the highest rate of complications. Conclusion: surgical treatment has a high rate of complications, which must be evaluated when selecting it as a therapeutic option, being at the same time the one that brings the best results in terms of early return to work or sports activity. On the other hand, conservative treatment appears to be safer, with a lower rate of complications, but a later return to work. These are serological markers, which are easily accessible, cheap, and their Specificity and Sensitivity are widely studied and known. On the other hand, we have arthrocentesis, with the following evaluation of synovial fluid. Through a systematic review of the existing studies, we will evaluate whether the execution of Postoperative Arthrocentesis in a preventive manner to anticipate a possible infection is not important, comparing these synovial markers with the previously mentioned serological ones (ESR and CRP). Material and methods: systematic review of articles through PubMed. In the first instance, a brief investigation is carried out on the incidence of infection in total hip replacement. After this, we select articles from medical trials that study patients with total hip replacement who have had peri-implant infection and meet the criteria proposed by the Musculoskeletal Infections Society (MSIS), and also, which were evaluated by the markers Erythrocyte Sedimentation (ESR), C-Reactive Protein (CRP), Synovial White Blood Cells (WBC) and Synovial Polymorphonuclear (PMN). Then these collected data were entered into an Excel table, comparing each one of them, and thus being able to have an average, defining if it is really worth performing immediate post-operative arthrocentesis in order to prevent or diagnose an infection early. Conclusion: although each of the studies analyzed have different cut-off values for each of the markers analyzed, we can observe that both the Specificity and the Sensitivity of the synovial fluid White Blood Cell count compared to the serological markers (CRP and ESR) are higher. Its embryological development occurs in early stages, between the fourth and sixth week approximately. These alterations can give rise to the appearance of congenital anomalies, which, if functionally viable in the neonatal/infantile period, can generate pain syndromes in working age, which increases the number of work absenteeism. Plain radiography is the most widely used diagnostic modality at the time of diagnosis of these congenital entities, as well as their clinical follow-up. The objective of this work is to know the prevalence of congenital malformations of the lumbar spine in a company that receives occupational medicine during 2021. Material and methods: front and profile lumbar spine radiographs were used, with a radiological report by a specialist, to patients who attended the company from January 2021 to December 2021. From this, the total number of patients evaluated was taken and prevalence statistics were performed congenital pathology of the lumbar spine. Results: Of the 855 patients studied, the presence of congenital lumbar malformation was found in 138, that is, 16,14 % of the total. Conclusion: Lumbar congenital malformation is a problem for the population of active working age. Given the high prevalence, it reinforces the need to carry out complete pre-occupational studies for primary health prevention in workers who may develop low back pain. Between 40 and 60% will develop symptomatic neurological complications with high morbidity and mortality at some point. Objective: To analyze the clinical-epidemiological characteristics of patients with HIV infection who develop neurological complications at the Japanese Hospital of Santa Cruz de la Sierra in the period between March 2019 and February 2022. Methods: Observational, descriptive, prospective, cross-sectional study. Universe and Sample: Patients admitted through the Emergency Service of the Japanese Hospital with a confirmed diagnosis of Human Immunodeficiency Virus Disease during the period between March 2019 and February 2022 Results and discussion: A total of 42 patients were evaluated, the majority of whom were men and had a younger average age. For both sexes, the majority of patients reported having a source of employment. Regarding sexual orientation, almost all women reported being heterosexual, while men were more variable, with the majority being bisexual. Three clinical syndromes were identified at admission. The frequency of focal syndrome was dominant in women, but was not significantly different from the others. In men, meningeal syndrome and focal syndrome were the dominant ones, significantly exceeding non-focal syndrome. Ten neurological complications were identified, cerebral toxoplasmosis was the most frequent, followed by cerebral cryptococcosis and meningeal tuberculosis. Considering all patients in general, their typical hospital stay was 11 days with a range between 2 and 56 days. Of the 42 patients evaluated, it was only possible to measure the CD4 status for 27. Conclusions: The young male population with employment in the city of Santa Cruz with aberrant sexual behavior was the most affected. Focal syndrome was the most frequent form of presentation, in the form of cerebral toxoplasmosis. Severely low levels of immunosuppression were found in the study population. Hospital stay is variable and is longer in cases of focal syndrome and meningeal syndrome. We consider it important to continue the present study, which will allow us to increase the sample size. While much is known about the key role of sleep in optimizing many functions, little has been explored regarding how it modulates pain perception. A bidirectional relationship between pain perception and sleep disturbances has been documented. This paper focuses on reviewing research on the relationship between sleep and pain perception specifically in patients diagnosed with fibromyalgia.Materials and Methods. A systematic review of published studies was conducted on the relationship between sleep disorders or poor sleep hygiene and pain perception in adult patients (18-65 years) diagnosed with fibromyalgia. The literature search was conducted in databases such as PubMed, MEDLINE and Scopus, Results. The results show that implementing strategies to improve sleep hygiene can reduce pain intensity and enhance the quality of life of patients. Additionally, it was observed that the lack of restorative sleep exacerbates fatigue symptoms and negatively affects cognitive and emotional functioning. Conclusión. The systematic review suggests that improving sleep hygiene is an effective intervention for managing pain in fibromyalgia patients. Incorporating healthy sleep habits into treatment could alleviate symptoms and optimize the clinical management of this condition, thus improving the quality of life. Several studies highlight the importance of communication strategies and their impact on patient outcomes and motivation. A bibliometric study was carried out in the categories "Physical Therapy, Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation" and "Rehabilitation" in the Scopus database. While both fields exhibit robustness and relevance in the academic and research panorama, "Physical Therapy, Sports Therapy, and Rehabilitation" appears to have an edge in terms of volume, impact, and collaboration. However, it's essential to note that the quality and actual impact on clinical practice and society may require considerations beyond these metrics. In conclusion, research in physical therapy, sports therapy, and rehabilitation is essential to advance the profession, improve patient care, and contribute to society's overall well-being. The implications of this work extend beyond the clinical realm, influencing education, policy, and health economics. It's an investment in the future of healthcare and a testament to the ongoing commitment to excellence and evidence-based care. It mainly affected women and represented a clinical and social challenge due to its complexity and high disability burden. It was observed that patients presented alterations in deep sleep and an increase in nocturnal awakenings, which intensified the pain and reduced the effectiveness of the treatments. Sleep hygiene, understood as the set of habits that favour restorative rest, was shown to be an effective strategy for improving sleep quality and reducing the perception of pain. Despite its effectiveness, its incorporation into health policies in Latin America was limited, and a biomedical approach centred on pharmacological treatment predominated. The need to integrate the psychoeducational and sleep components into the multidisciplinary management of fibromyalgia was highlighted. Recently, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) has been proposed as a regenerative therapy to potentially accelerate tendon healing and improve outcomes. Material and methods: We performed a review of studies published between 2010 and 2024 examining the effectiveness of PRP in patients with rotator cuff tendinopathies or partial tears. Clinical trials, observational studies, and meta-analyses were included, focusing on pain reduction (Visual Analogue Scale) and functional improvement (Constant-Murley, Quick DASH). Results: Most studies reported a significant decrease in pain and an improvement in shoulder function after PRP application, especially in patients who did not respond to conventional treatments. No severe adverse effects were identified, although the efficacy varied depending on the concentration of platelets and injection protocols. Conclusion: PRP appears to be a promising option for enhancing tendon healing and reducing pain in rotator cuff injuries. However, the lack of standardized protocols calls for further research to establish definitive guidelines and confirm its long-term benefits and safety. The risk of VTE is established in patients who will undergo major orthopedic surgery, given by factors such as the duration of surgery and reduced perioperative mobility. Studies show that without pharmacological thrombo prophylaxis, VTE rates are significant. For this reason, it is essential to establish an effective thrombo prophylaxis protocol to prevent VTE without significantly increasing the risk of bleeding. There is no evidence with strong results regarding the drug of choice for thrombo prophylaxis, but currently meta-analyses and systematic reviews establish aspirin as an effective, accessible and low-cost option, with low risk of postoperative bleeding in low-risk patients. Aspirin is an easy-to-administer drug, does not require blood monitoring and is well tolerated, with an excellent safety profile. However, there are some theories that newer oral agents may have higher risks of bleeding, such as major hemorrhages and complications from postsurgical wounds. Therefore, there is still considerable debate about which agents should be preferred in terms of effectiveness and lower risk of bleeding. Objectives: To establish the drug of choice for thromboprophylaxis in VTE in patients undergoing major orthopedic surgery. Materials and methods: A bibliographic search and analysis was carried out, only 15 articles were suitable for the research, articles from international databases such as PubMed, Scopus and Cinahl were used. Results: There were no significant differences in the risk of VTE (OR = 0.93; 95% CI: 0.69-1.26; p = 0.64), DVT (OR = 0.72; 95% CI: 0.43-1.20; p = 0.21) or PTE (OR = 1.13; 95% CI: 0.86-1.49; p = 0.38) between the groups that received LMWH prophylaxis and those that received aspirin. Nor were significant differences found in mortality (p = 0.30), bleeding (p = 0.22), or surgical wound complications (p = 0.85) between the two groups. Conclusion: aspirin is at least as safe and effective a drug for thromboprophylaxis as OACs and LMWH. Its incidence increased significantly in those who underwent hip (THA) and knee (TKA) arthroplasty, which led to the development of effective prevention strategies. Development: Risk factors associated with both the patient and the surgical procedure were identified. The Caprini scale was used to stratify them, including in orthopedic patients. In terms of pharmacological prophylaxis, anticoagulants such as low molecular weight heparins (LMWH), direct oral anticoagulants (DOAC) and aspirin (ASA) were compared. Different studies showed that ASA was similarly effective to LMWH in low-risk patients, with advantages such as lower cost and better tolerance. However, DOACs offered a slight superiority in efficacy, although with a higher risk of bleeding. Current recommendations favored a combination of pharmacological and mechanical measures such as early ambulation and the use of compression stockings. Conclusion: The prevention of VTE in major orthopedic surgery required an individualized and evidence-based approach. Aspirin emerged as a valid alternative in certain cases, without completely replacing other anticoagulants in high-risk patients. Further research was considered essential, especially in local contexts such as Argentina, to adapt strategies according to the needs of the health system. Material and methods: A meta-analysis of randomized controlled clinical trials comparing patients in the prone vs. supine position was performed with a search in Pubmed, Embase, Cochrane Library and LILACS, and mortality, hospital stay, days of mechanical ventilation and adverse effects were evaluated. Results: Seven randomized controlled clinical trials were included in the analysis. The prone position showed a non-significant tendency to decrease mortality when analyzed globally. When stratified by subgroups, a significant decrease in the risk of mortality was found in patients: 1) ventilated with low tidal volume, 2) prolonged prone position, and 3) established before 48 hours of disease progression in severe hypoxemia. The adverse effects related to prone position were the development of pressure ulcers and orotracheal tube obstruction. Conclusion: Prone position ventilation is a safe strategy and reduces mortality in patients with severe oxygenation impairment. It should be established early, for prolonged periods, and associated with a protective ventilation strategy. Recent research has shown that it protects HT-22 neuronal cells from oxidative stress caused by hypoxia and reoxygenation, through the activation of signalling pathways such as pAkt and ERK1/2. In addition, it modulates the activation of microglia and astrocytes, reducing inflammation and neuronal damage. Its action did not depend on the CB2 receptor, which indicated a novel mechanism. Its therapeutic potential in neurodegenerative diseases such as ischaemic stroke, which is common in Latin America, was highlighted. Although its safety profile was favourable, additional clinical studies were indicated for its implementation. Regional cooperation was presented as a key factor in advancing its clinical application. Symptoms included pain in the front of the pelvis, radiating to the groin and difficulty with activities such as running or climbing stairs. Its diagnosis was based on clinical evaluations and imaging studies, such as X-rays and magnetic resonance imaging. Treatment required a multidisciplinary approach combining relative rest, physiotherapy, physical therapies, anti-inflammatory medication and, in severe cases, surgery. In Argentina, this condition significantly affected athletes, especially in disciplines such as soccer, rugby and hockey, so prevention and rehabilitation programs were implemented in sports centers. Abstract: Introduction Osteitis pubis, also known as pubalgia, is a mainly chronic injury, very common, which significantly affects the career of athletes, mainly men and young athletes, reappearing repeatedly because it occurs in an area that is constantly active in sports life, making it difficult to rest and thus generating numerous recurrences. Objectives Establish a proper management to treat this injury, taking into account the high competitiveness, and understand and know which is the most effective treatment method between surgical and conservative. Materials and methods A complete investigation will be carried out from different articles and studies carried out by health professionals about different treatments of osteitis pubis and at what time of the injury they were performed, from these to draw a conclusion according to the different results. Results: Different studies were reviewed,76 athletes with a diagnosis of pubalgia, were treated with conservative methods averaging a return to activity between 3 and 6 months depending on the stage of the injury. Injection therapy showed positive results in some patients at 3-8 weeks, while other patients after 25 weeks of injection did not benefit. 198 patients were studied for surgical treatment, on average, prior to surgery, presented preoperative symptoms for 15 months and averaged a recovery time of 9 months to regain competitiveness. Conclusion: OP should be treated according to the type of lesion of each patient, it should always be started with conservative treatment, ignoring infiltrative therapies, it should not wait more than 3 months to opt for surgical treatment. Objective: to characterize aspects related to the difficult airway. Method: a review of the available literature was carried out using the analytical synthetic and logical historical methods through articles retrieved from databases such as SciELO, Scopus and ClinicalKey. A total of 12 references were selected that addressed the main characteristics of the topic in question. Results: airway management, conceptualized as the set of maneuvers and use of devices that allow adequate ventilation. Intubation difficulties can occur even in cases considered easy in the assessment. Correct management of the airway (VA) and the difficult airway (DA) is essential in intensive care units (ICU). The evaluation and prediction of a difficult airway in the pediatric patient is of great importance for its correct management. Hypoxia is the cause most often related to death due to airway management. Awake treatment is the option of choice to secure a difficult airway. Conclusions: airway management and maintenance of adequate oxygenation are central objectives in every patient who enters the emergency department. If a difficult airway is encountered, an emergency situation may occur, with deleterious consequences for the patient. In Argentina, 33.4% of the population between 18 and 64 years of age are smokers, with a predominance in the lower income areas of the country. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 1.6 million people die of pneumonia every year, with smoking being a major risk factor for its development. Materials and methods: A prospective observational descriptive study was carried out at the Eurnekian Hospital in Ezeiza to describe the evolution of young adult patients with severe pneumonia. Data was collected through anamnesis and review of physical medical records of patients admitted with a diagnosis of pneumonia. Results: Thirty-eight young immunocompetent patients hospitalized with pneumonia were analyzed. The average age was 40 years, with a predominance of males (70.7%). The average number of years of consumption was 20, and 20 patients (55.2%) of the total were minors at the beginning of their smoking habit. With regard to the presence of previous pathologies, 7 patients (18.2%) were diabetic, 9 were hypertensive, 3 had suffered an acute myocardial infarction, 4 had suffered a cerebrovascular accident; 3 had advanced heart failure, 1 had renal failure and 3 had suffered tuberculosis for which they had received full treatment. With regard to oxygen saturation on admission to hospital, 8 patients had saturation levels of between 80-84.9%, 21 between 85-90% and 9 >90%. The average length of stay in hospital was 5.8 days, with only 9 patients being hospitalized for between 10-14 days. Conclusion: The results show that the onset of smoking habit is prior to the age of majority. We believe it is advisable to carry out more campaigns for the prevention of addictions and smoking cessation in adolescents and young adults, with an emphasis on primary health prevention. Objective: to characterize the application of prognostic scales in atrial fibrillation. Method: a narrative review of the available literature was carried out using the analytical synthetic and logical historical methods using articles retrieved from databases such as SciELO, Scopus and ClinicalKey. Articles published mainly in the period 2017 to 2023 were used. A total of 14 references were selected that addressed the main characteristics of the topic in question. Results: a one-point increase in the CHA2 DS2-VASc and HAS-BLED scores represents an increase in the occurrence of events and mortality with both scores, and also represents an increase in the risk of cardiovascular events and mortality. The dynamic calculation of the CHA2DS2-VASc and HAS-BLED scores represents an improvement in the predictive capacity of adverse events with respect to the baseline score. In addition, the dynamic evaluation is clinically more useful than the baseline scores, providing an overall improvement in the net benefit for predicting events. Conclusions: the embolic and bleeding risk scores are important tools for the clinician who prescribes anticoagulation in patients with atrial fibrillation, and recording them in the clinical record is of utmost importance. The health system faced difficulties arising from the post-pandemic period, a prolonged economic crisis and unequal access to specialized resources. The high incidence of upper limb injuries was related to the increase in road and work accidents, as well as urban violence. These injuries mainly affected young males from vulnerable sectors. Diagnosis depended, in many cases, on clinical experience, given the limited availability of studies such as electromyography. This reality caused diagnostic delays that reduced the chances of functional recovery. In terms of treatment, tendon transfers continued to be the most widely used technique in public hospitals due to their simplicity and low cost, while nerve transfers began to be implemented in more complex centers. Post-surgical rehabilitation showed marked inequalities between regions. The shortage of specialized physiotherapists, coupled with the lack of continuity in treatments, negatively affected the results. In addition, many patients faced barriers to accessing orthotics, rehabilitation or postoperative check-ups, resorting to NGOs or solidarity campaigns. From the academic sphere, research into surgical treatments was promoted and 3D printing was explored as an alternative for personalized splints. Although significant progress was made, gaps in infrastructure and resources limited its impact. It is essential in daily life activities, and its delicate structures are strategically innervated by three main nerves: the ulnar nerve for the hypothenar palm area, the median nerve for the thenar palm area, and the radial nerve for the dorsal aspect. Nerve injuries result in the loss of sensitivity and motor function associated with them. Radial nerve injury leads to the loss of wrist and finger extensor function, thus disrupting the normal grip and release pattern. Surgical techniques aimed at restoring function include tendon transfers or nerve repairs. Objective: To demonstrate the best therapeutic approach for each radial nerve injury. Material and methods: Systematic literature searches were conducted on PubMed for studies published between 2008 and 2024, focusing on radial nerve paralysis treated with tendon transfer or nerve transfer surgery. Results: The results of these studies show heterogeneity regarding technique and functional restoration. Conclusion: Currently, there is no consensus on the optimal technique for reconstruction; however, nerve transfers emerge as a promising option. Nevertheless, further research is needed to identify the limitations of each technique. Regarding the causes and incidences, there are different studies from various countries and regions that present different results, due to the cultural variations in each country and their practiced sports. Moreover, in some countries, like Italy for example, screenings for conditions such as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy are implemented more frequently compared to other countries. Sudden death involves a broad spectrum of associated pathologies, and in athletes or individuals under 35 years old, the most common causes are primary cardiomyopathies, cardiac channelopathies, and congenital anomalies of the coronary arteries. Objectives: Know the main causes of sudden cardiac death in young athletes. Material and methods: This work is a systematic review of the literature, where different studies and articles will be analyzed to compile the most relevant and up-to-date information regarding the main causes of sudden death in young athletes. The search will be conducted through databases such as PubMed, SciELO, and the Argentine Society of Cardiology's website. Results: Based on the results obtained, it was observed that the most common causes of sudden death in young athletes vary depending on the region where the studies were conducted. This variation is mainly due to sociocultural factors that influence how a given society behaves and which sports are practiced. Conclusion: Although it is a rare event with low incidence, sudden cardiac death is a catastrophic event that, in most cases, leads to death. However, it is an event that can be prevented, and with the correct therapeutic intervention in the first few minutes, it can be successfully reversed. But to achieve this, it is necessary to understand the topic and be aware of its main causes to act correctly and efficiently.
