Structured training in designing digital Student Worksheets (LKPD) using the Canva application was delivered to advanced participants to enhance their digital literacy and instructional design expertise. The initiative was framed within the Independent Curriculum and sought to generate a sustainable uplift in teacher competencies through context-sensitive and practice-based professional development. Method: employing a Participatory Action Research (PAR) paradigm, the investigation incorporated 15 junior secondary teachers as collaborative co-researchers. The design unfolded across four interrelated phases: a needs diagnostic, training workshops, the classroom deployment of developed materials, and a reflective evaluation. Quantitative indicators comprised digital literacy levels, instructional design proficiency, and overall participant satisfaction. Data were subjected to descriptive statistical treatment and normalized gain (N-Gain) computations to quantify cognitive advancements. Results: aggregate teacher performance on teacher knowledge assessments rose from a mean of 43,33 (pretest) to 81,33 (posttest), yielding a normalized gain of 0,67, which situates the level of enhancement within the moderate-to-high category. The majority of participants produced digital worksheets characterized by visually coherent design and congruence with specified curriculum goals. Aggregate satisfaction ratings for trainers and the training itinerary eclipsed the threshold of 81 points, thereby classifying feedback as “very good.” In addition to cognitive strides, teachers conveyed heightened self-efficacy and observable increases in student engagement during the materials’ classroom application. Conclusions: The program significantly enhanced teachers’ expertise in creating digital instructional strategies. Its emphasis on collaborative, hands-on engagement demonstrated both effectiveness and flexibility in contexts traditionally lacking resources. The initiative, therefore, presents a replicable framework for ongoing professional advancement and actively cultivates networks of peer learning among educators in underserved communities. It reduces neonatal mortality by 40 % and optimizes hospital resources. Although it faces cultural and structural challenges worldwide, its implementation can improve the quality of life of newborns and their families. Objective: to determine the effectiveness of the Kangaroo Method in preterm infants. Methods: this article uses a systematic review supported by the PRISMA 2020 Declaration, with a qualitative-descriptive approach. The PICO model was used to define the research question, scientific articles from the last 5 years were reviewed in ten databases, using MeSH terms, DeCs and using Bilean operators, related to the Kangaroo method and its effectiveness. Results: a compilation of studies demonstrate the effectiveness of the kangaroo method in improving the quality of life, basing this on different categories supported by authors who defend this method as an effective and recommended alternative to problems such as breastfeeding, socioeconomic level or medical problems that arise in premature newborns. Conclusions: CMM is an effective strategy to care for preterm newborns, however, despite its multiple benefits, there is a lack in terms of its application, for this reason the dissemination of this effective method is sought. Globally, approximately 50 % of non-communicative critically ill patients experience pain during their stay in intensive care units. However, the use of validated scales such as the Behavioral Pain Scale (BPS) and the Critical-Care Pain Observation Tool (CPOT) remains limited. In Ecuador, 87 % of medical staff do not use scales to assess pain, resulting in 66 % of patients not receiving an adequate assessment and 92 % experiencing ineffective pain management. Objective: to analyze the clinical utility and application of validated scales for the assessment of pain in non-communicative patients in hospital settings. Method: a systematic review was conducted with a qualitative-descriptive approach, using the PRISMA methodology. Twenty-seven articles published between 2020 and 2025, in English and Spanish, located in scientific databases such as PubMed, Scopus, and Scielo, were included. Results: the Behavioral Pain Scale (BPS), the Pain Indicator Behavior Scale (ESCID), PAINAD, CPOT, and NCS-R were the most frequently used. These tools were found to have good validity and reliability for detecting pain in non-communicative critically ill patients and were effective in procedures such as tracheal aspiration and mobilization. New technologies have also shown advances in the automation of pain diagnosis, although with limitations in standardization. Conclusions: adequate pain assessment in non-communicative patients is possible through validated behavioral scales, whose clinical application requires ongoing professional training and adaptation to the patient’s context. Working conditions are the combination of physical, organizational, and environmental factors present in the workplace. Occupational hazards are those elements that can harm the physical, mental, or emotional well-being of workers. In the field of nursing, these hazards include exposure to biological, chemical, and physical agents.  Methodology. A quantitative, observational, cross-sectional, and correlational study was conducted with 75 eighth-semester nursing students from the Technical University of Ambato, Ecuador. Two validated questionnaires were used to assess working conditions and occupational hazards. Data were analyzed using Pearson and Spearman correlation tests.  Results. 76 % of students reported a high biological risk, followed by 50,7 % for chemical risk, and 65,3 % for physical risk. Working conditions were perceived as inadequate, especially in intra-work aspects. A significant correlation was observed between poor working conditions and exposure to occupational hazards (p < 0,05). Conclusions. The alternative hypothesis is accepted in all four cases. That is, there is a direct and strong relationship between occupational conditions and hazards and their biological, chemical, and physical dimensions. Improving aspects such as workload and supervision could significantly reduce these risks, highlighting the need to establish safety policies and protocols in healthcare institutions. It can be understood as the consequence of a rational, scientific model that moves away from human sensitivity. The meaning and essence of humanized care comes from the word “humanity” defined as sensitivity, compassion, kindness towards others. The person in charge of managing this care is the nursing staff, since their main focus in their activities is care in the care and provision of health services. A bibliographic study was carried out with the aim of reviewing the state of the art of humanized care in relation to the sociodemographic data of nursing students. To define the social and ethical responsibilities of nursing and explain the implications of humane care, a model is proposed that includes ten factors of care. These factors include the practice of kindness and equanimity, support for deep beliefs, the cultivation of spiritual practices, the development of authentic caring relationships, and the expression of feelings. In addition, emphasis is placed on the creative use of knowledge, the creation of healing environments, the attention to basic needs with deliberate awareness, and the willingness to address spiritual and existential dimensions. These principles underpin care as a way of inhabiting the world and developing projects that promote transcendence and interpersonal relationships in a cosmic context Journal: Community and Interculturality in Dialogue Pages: 131 Volume: 5 Issue: Year: 2025 Subtitle : DOI: 10.56294/cid2025131 Handle: RePEc:dbk:commun:v:5:y:2025:i::p:131:id:131 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Victoria Estefania Coque León Author-Name: Devora Estefania Manzano Quisimalin Title: Healing experiences with medicinal plants in older adults of the Rumipamba neighborhood of Navas Abstract: Introduction: medicinal plants are those that have healing properties that have been implemented since ancient times, being transmitted from generation to generation as a natural means by which diseases can be treated.  Objective: to analyze the healing experiences with medicinal plants in older adults from the Rumipamba de Navas neighborhood.  Method: a qualitative approach research was carried out, with a hermeneutic phenomenological design with a descriptive scope that addresses, from a phenomenological position, knowing the healing experiences with medicinal plants in older adults from the Rumipamba de Navas neighborhood.  Results: 15 semi-structured interviews were carried out and the analysis of the data obtained through the qualitative study on the healing experiences with medicinal plants in older adults from the Rumipamba de Navas neighborhood and applying Giorgi's method allowed us to identify categories and subcategories that highlight the aspects about your experience.  Conclusion: the older adults of the Rumipamba neighborhood of Navas have extensive experience in what has to do with the use of the same medicinal plants that have been used to treat their illnesses and ailments. The information collected indicates the importance that these plants have in their families, neighbors and in taking care of their own health. Interventions include prenatal educational programs, mobile apps, emotional support, nutritional supplementation, and personalized teaching methods such as teach-back, which has been shown to improve breastfeeding self-efficacy. Research shows that a combination of approaches, such as psychosocial support and technology integration, is essential to reduce practical and emotional barriers faced by mothers, especially in cases of cesarean section, postpartum depression, and socioeconomic vulnerability. Although some interventions do not directly increase the duration of exclusive breastfeeding, they reduce the perception of difficulties, contributing to more effective breastfeeding. The study concludes that a holistic approach, including education, emotional support and counseling, is key to improving breastfeeding outcomes and supporting maternal and child health in diverse populations. A teacher training experience Abstract: Unlike training, which involves the preparation of an organization's personnel to perform a certain activity, teacher training deals with the “acquisition, definition and redefinition of skills, knowledge, abilities and values for the performance of the teaching function throughout their professional life” (Estepa Murillo et al., 2005), which has recently been characterized as competencies that teachers should develop as part of their professional profile. This training, however, is mostly focused on pedagogical aspects (teaching planning, development of teaching-learning or assessment strategies, development of teaching materials) and lately on the inclusion of technological tools and Artificial Intelligence to “improve” classes -especially since the Covid-19 pandemic- and leaves aside other important aspects for the development of the teaching person. This paper presents the redesign of a workshop whose main objective is to develop intercultural competence in higher education teachers, specifically around the French language, culture and education, while guiding them in their search for mobility options to French-speaking countries, which, incidentally, are less widespread compared to Anglo-Saxon options. Methods: a systematic review was conducted with a qualitative-descriptive approach, using the PRISMA methodology. Conclusion: adequate pain assessment in non-communicative patients is possible through validated behavioral scales, whose clinical application requires ongoing professional training and adaptation to the patient's context. Every year, blood needs are greater than availability, which influences the scarcity of the resource. This research was conducted with the aim of describing knowledge and attitudes about blood donation. Methods: a cross-sectional observational study was conducted on 146 people from the Chigüilpe commune. A 19-question survey was used, divided into two dimensions: the first assesses sociodemographic data and the second information related to knowledge about donations. The instrument was applied in person and through an online form. Results: males predominated over females (60,3 %), 37,7 % were between 45 and 60 years old, 65,8% reported having donated blood at some point, 1,4 % reported not knowing the usefulness of donated blood, only 2,7 % considered donating to be harmful to health, and 81,5 % expressed their willingness to donate in the future. The main motivation for donating was that a family member or friend needed the blood (63 %). Conclusions: the residents of the Chigüilpe commune showed a moderate general knowledge about blood donations, which became lower when dealing with specifics on the subject such as requirements. A positive attitude towards donation and a low percentage of erroneous beliefs were found Journal: Community and Interculturality in Dialogue Pages: 116 Volume: 5 Issue: Year: 2025 Subtitle : DOI: 10.56294/cid2025116 Handle: RePEc:dbk:commun:v:5:y:2025:i::p:116:id:116 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Estifanos Balew Liyew Title: Marriage Practice: A Comparative Analysis between Chinese and Ethiopian People Abstract: Marriage has been crucial to maintaining human reproduction, social progress, and cultural continuity. In Cheran Michoacán, with a “Basta ya!” (Enough already!) that came from the mouths of some women, the transformation of an environment full of violence that filled the community members of that native town with fear began. Relationships between each of the members of the community were strengthened, to protect what was most sacred to them: “life, mother nature”. It also led to a change that benefited women in terms of political participation, because they began to be present in the assemblies, in the Greater Council, representing the interests of each one of them and also of their territory. In the field of nursing, care is considered the essence of the profession. Humanized care is essential in the ethical and social values of nurse-patient care, implying the application of ethical principles and the student's self-perception. This process is based on the connection and shared experiences between the nurse and the patient. The objective of this research was to determine the level of applicability of humanized care in relation to the sociodemographic data of the Nursing students of the Adventist Technological Institute of Ecuador, Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas 2021. No relationship was found between the age of the students and the perception of humanized care (X² = 6.382; P = 0.1759). There was also no association between gender and humanized care (X² = 1.787; P = 0.4092). The students' degree did not show a relationship with humanized care (X² = 3.414; P = 0.1814). However, there is a significant relationship between the level of the student cycle and humanized care (X² = 17.615; P = 0.024) at the regular level. The results suggest that academic development influences the ability to provide more humanized care Journal: Community and Interculturality in Dialogue Pages: 98 Volume: 5 Issue: Year: 2025 Subtitle : DOI: 10.56294/cid202598 Handle: RePEc:dbk:commun:v:5:y:2025:i::p:98:id:98 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Xiomara Carranza Jimenez Author-Name: Jeanette Choque Vargas Author-Name: Patricia Rafaela Soledad Ortega Medina Author-Name: Soledad Maidana Victoria Title: Death: between the individual and the social Abstract: This paper discusses the concept of death and its various types, focusing on how death affects terminally ill nurses. The importance of understanding and managing emotions related to death in nursing practice is explored. Types of death such as natural, apparent, sudden, violent, suicide, homicide, accidental death, and assisted suicide are discussed. The paper reflects on the universal fear of death and how this fear can influence the pursuit of achievement to counteract distress, often leading to an anxious race against time without enjoying achievement. The importance of recognizing and addressing death-related fears and emotions in nursing staff to provide high quality care to terminally ill patients and their families is highlighted. It is highlighted that, despite the inevitability of death in nursing practice, nursing professionals are not always emotionally prepared to deal with death. It is mentioned that the dying process not only affects nurses in their professional lives but also impacts their personal lives. The need to provide adequate support and resources to help nurses cope with the complex emotions associated with the death of patients is highlighted. In conclusion, this paper highlights the importance of addressing the issue of death in nursing practice, recognizing the need for emotional support and training for nursing professionals. The need for more compassionate and dignified care in the process of caring for terminally ill patients is emphasized Journal: Community and Interculturality in Dialogue Pages: 118 Volume: 3 Issue: Year: 2023 Subtitle : DOI: 10.56294/cid2023118 Handle: RePEc:dbk:commun:v:3:y:2023:i::p:118:id:118 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Moises Servin Cazares Title: The Process of Autonomy of indigenous peoples in the state of Michoacán today Abstract: The article analyzed the process of autonomy of the indigenous communities in Michoacán, highlighting the historical struggle of these peoples for their self-determination. Autonomy was presented as a complex process that allowed various communities to establish systems of self-government to avoid dependence on local councils. In this context, the case of Cherán K'eri was mentioned, which in 2011 demonstrated strong internal solidarity while facing state repression. Furthermore, in 2004, the communities of Nurio and Quinceo also declared themselves autonomous, setting a precedent in the region. The study showed how autonomy not only represented a vindication of collective rights, but also forced nation states to rethink their political structures. The influence of the Zapatista uprising in 1994 and the legal reforms of 2001 that promoted the recognition of indigenous rights were mentioned. The importance of various legal bodies, such as the SCJN and the TEPJF, in the protection of these rights was also highlighted. The article also addressed the administration of communal resources, the fight against political corruption and the establishment of community security bodies, such as the Kuarichas. Finally, the progress of these communities in their self-government was recognized, although the need to guarantee an efficient use of the budget was emphasized. Indigenous autonomy in Michoacán was presented as an evolving process, marked by resistance, organization and the search for collective well-being. The Sectoral Education Program 2020-2024 established that inclusion and educational equity were fundamental pillars to guarantee social justice. In this context, the research addressed the acculturation process of ethnic youth at the Autonomous University of Zacatecas (UAZ), through life histories and qualitative techniques such as interviews, non-participant observation, and documentary analysis. Historically, indigenous education in Mexico has been marked by acculturation, forced assimilation and castellanization. During the colonial period, missionaries promoted evangelization and established schools with the aim of transforming indigenous identity. Subsequently, in the 19th and 20th centuries, the education system continued to exert pressure to integrate native peoples into the mestizo national culture, perpetuating the marginalization of their identity. In the 21st century, although constitutional reforms and intercultural education programs were implemented, ethnic youth still faced obstacles in higher education. The lack of records on indigenous students at the Autonomous University of Zacatecas (UAZ) highlighted the absence of institutional policies aimed at their inclusion. The research used Grounded Theory and the Expanded Model of Relative Acculturation to analyze the cultural adaptation of these students. Using ATLAS.ti software and Sankey Diagrams, their experiences were represented, making visible the barriers and challenges they faced in their university journey. In turn, communication for social change is presented as an approach oriented towards the conscious and participatory resilience of the subjects involved in the transformation process. Both paradigms are inseparable and are assumed to be an alternative for educating social groups following the principles of equity, social justice, collective responsibility and respect for self-determination. In this sense, the general objective of the present research is the elaboration of a proposal for an educommunicative strategy oriented towards the formation of infocommunicational competences in older people from the Chair of the Elderly at the University of Havana, based on the models of Washington Uranga and Carlos Núñez. To this end, a systematization of the theoretical assumptions on educommunication and communication for social change was carried out. The models of the aforementioned authors were characterized in order to select the fundamental aspects that would structure the proposal. The elements to be included in each phase of the strategy were determined, taking into account the criteria provided by those involved in the questionnaire applied during the research. The willingness to learn, innovate, participate and transform themselves served as common denominators in the structuring of the final project. It begins by highlighting the importance of traditional medicine in various cultures and its vital link to the cultural identity of ethnic groups. It then differentiates between traditional medicine and complementary/alternative medicine, explaining that the former is part of a specific culture, while the latter is used in conjunction with or in place of conventional medicine. The paper highlights how traditional and complementary medicine often seek to balance the physical, spiritual and experiential aspects of health and how these practices are rooted in culture and nature. Numerous alternative and complementary therapies, such as herbal medicine, acupuncture, reflexology, yoga, and aromatherapy, are mentioned, and it is emphasized that these therapies are based on natural and noninvasive approaches. In addition, the relationship between traditional medicine and Western medicine is discussed, and how in some places they are being harmoniously combined to provide holistic health care. The example of intercultural medicine in Cuba is mentioned, where scientific medicine, traditional Chinese medicine and natural and traditional medicine are integrated. The importance of preserving and respecting the traditions and practices of traditional medicine of indigenous cultures, such as Mapuche medicine in South America, is emphasized. It is mentioned that these traditions not only treat individual diseases, but also seek to maintain balance with nature and culture. In conclusion, it is emphasized that traditional and complementary medicine offer a different perspective on health and wellness, and it is important to approach them critically and with proper medical guidance. Dysphagia, difficulty in swallowing, is an important risk, caused by organic lesions or neuromuscular dysfunctions. Normal swallowing is divided into four phases, any of which can be affected and lead to dysphagia. Dysphagia is associated with diseases such as Parkinson's disease, esophageal cancer, and pulmonary disorders. Its prevalence is high in older patients, with 30 % in those over 65 years of age and up to 86 % in older adults hospitalized with pneumonia. Its early detection is crucial, as it can lead to comorbidities such as dehydration, malnutrition and aspiration pneumonia. Tolerance tests with foods of different textures and liquids of various viscosities are used to assess dysphagia. Results may indicate impaired chewing, oral storage of food, reduced laryngeal elevation, and more. In addition, instrumental tests such as videofluoroscopy and endoscopic examination are used to detect aspiration and other abnormalities. The goal of comprehensive diagnosis is to find solutions and early oral rehabilitation, adopt appropriate therapeutic measures, improve posture and ergonomics, strengthen the oropharyngeal musculature and prevent associated risks. As life expectancy increases and birth rates decrease, the percentage of older people in the total population is growing significantly. Self-care in the older adult population covers a wide range of areas, ranging from the adoption of healthy lifestyle habits, such as a balanced diet and regular exercise, to medication management, blood pressure control, and monitoring of blood sugar levels. Conclusions: Implementing self-care as a permanent lifestyle habit is essential for older adults to maintain a good quality of life, prevent or control diseases, and relieve pressure on health services Journal: Community and Interculturality in Dialogue Pages: .80 Volume: 4 Issue: Year: 2024 Subtitle : DOI: 10.56294/cid2024.80 Handle: RePEc:dbk:commun:v:4:y:2024:i::p:.80:id:80 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Mehmet Akif İpek Author-Name: Ayşe Cansın Yıldırım Author-Name: Egemen Büyükbudak Author-Name: João Tomás Author-Name: Sandy Severino Author-Name: Luís Sousa Title: Physical activity and successful aging: community-based interventions for health promotion Abstract: Aging is a stage of life during which people's health status fluctuates in a variety of ways and experiences some physical health impairments. The issue of how to spend this time healthily has become more pressing as the global aging population rises. In this regard, a significant portion of the scientific literature discusses the benefits of physical activity for older people's overall health. In order to comprehend the potential repercussions of older adults engaging in light physical activity as well as the primary preventive measures, this review sought to evaluate the most recent research on the significance of modest physical exercise. Light physical activity improved older people's functional ability, helped prevent chronic illnesses, and improved their quality of life by preserving their mental well-being. In light of this, it's critical to create and implement training programs that encourage older persons to partake in frequent, light physical activity. Through the implementation of effective policies and programs, it seeks to promote and protect the health of the entire population, prevent diseases and improve the quality of life of citizens. This paper will analyze the importance of public health, a central theme in the movie "Sólo Gente". The plot of the movie takes place in a dystopian future where society is highly controlled and people live under constant surveillance. Through this futuristic setting, the film indirectly addresses several aspects related to public health. In the film, the government has exceptional control over people's health and uses advanced technology to monitor and control their physical and mental well-being. This depiction raises ethical and social questions about privacy and free will. It also highlights the importance of people having autonomy over their bodies and health decisions. In the context of public health, the film also shows how the state can use its power to prioritize certain aspects of health over others; another important aspect is the importance of equitable access to health care and how exclusion from the system can lead to negative consequences for those who do not have access to health services. In conclusion, the film "Just People" addresses several issues related to public health, such as privacy, individual liberty, health prioritization, health care systems, and equity in access to health services Journal: Community and Interculturality in Dialogue Pages: 121 Volume: 4 Issue: Year: 2024 Subtitle : DOI: 10.56294/cid2024121 Handle: RePEc:dbk:commun:v:4:y:2024:i::p:121:id:121 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Anibal Espinosa Aguilar Author-Name: Gloria Concepción Rojas Ruíz Author-Name: Michel Oria Saavedra Author-Name: Lucia Montserrat Rojas Ruíz Title: Review of an educational strategy between culture, history, religiosity and health. “Operation Caacupé” Abstract: Los festejos por el día de Nuestra Señora de Caacupé, se celebra cada año entre los días 28 de noviembre hasta el 15 de diciembre. In this sense, the arrival of immigrants in host countries, in many cases, makes this population more susceptible to health risk situations because of work activities, lack of integration with the local population and the immigration process itself. Methods: the study used a bibliographic review of the literature as a method. In this context, integration policies and the recognition of educational training in the country of origin can contribute to improving the living conditions of this population in Brazil.  Results: in this context, this study aims to provide a summary of the challenges faced by immigrants in search of improved living conditions. Furthermore, this study contributes to identifying the main challenges facing immigrants recently arrived in Brazil and the difficult process of integration into local society. It is observed that the authors highlight in common that, worldwide, in the different receiving countries, regardless of the social, political, and economic context in which the immigrants find themselves, there is some destructive process that conditions the health-disease process of this population, resulting from the various factors mentioned above. Conclusion: yet the positive contribution of migration to development is increasingly recognized, and these targeted policies will maximize their benefits in both countries of origin and destination Journal: Community and Interculturality in Dialogue Pages: 128 Volume: 4 Issue: Year: 2024 Subtitle : DOI: 10.56294/cid2024128 Handle: RePEc:dbk:commun:v:4:y:2024:i::p:128:id:128 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Efrén Mesías Palacios Zumba Author-Name: Mónica Jackeline Herrera Toledo Author-Name: Martha Fernanda Villacrés Correa Author-Name: Sara Stefany Jácome Achi Author-Name: Paulina Alexandra Moreta Maldonado Author-Name: Silvia Guadalupe Vélez Monrroy Author-Name: Richar Jacobo Posso Pacheco Title: Classrooms in Hospitals as Spaces of Opportunity Towards Inclusive Education Abstract: The objective of this research was to determine the specific difficulties that hospitalized students face in accessing inclusive education in hospital classrooms. Nurses' perceptions are shaped by their educational background, professional experience, personal beliefs, and cultural context. They receive training in disease management and palliative care, providing them with the knowledge to approach these situations professionally. However, personal experiences, beliefs, and emotions also influence their response. The evolution of medical science has led to the medicalization of death, with nurses often caring for dying patients in hospital settings. The emotional burden on nurses necessitates emotional self-awareness and support networks to manage stress and trauma effectively. Cultural influences play a significant role in how nurses perceive illness and death. Some cultures avoid open discussions about death, creating communication barriers. Nurses must develop culturally sensitive communication skills to provide respectful care. Various medical traditions, such as Western medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Indigenous medicine, offer different perspectives on illness and death. Cultural differences extend to funeral practices and beliefs about the afterlife. Anonymous interviews with nurses highlighted their diverse responses to death and the emotional toll it can take. Support programs and psychological assistance should be available to help nurses cope with these challenges. In conclusion, nurses' perceptions of illness and death are multifaceted, influenced by education, experience, personal beliefs, and culture. Emotional management and institutional support are crucial for effective patient care. Creating an environment that encourages open communication and respect for these issues is essential. Nurses must engage in ongoing self-reflection to provide compassionate care and address the complex emotional aspects of their profession Journal: Community and Interculturality in Dialogue Pages: 93 Volume: 4 Issue: Year: 2024 Subtitle : DOI: 10.56294/cid202493 Handle: RePEc:dbk:commun:v:4:y:2024:i::p:93:id:93 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Gisela Noemí Escalante Author-Name: Romina Noelia Ganz Author-Name: Daiana Loreley Mendez Minetti Title: Influence of culture on disease perception Abstract: This scientific paper explores the complex relationship between culture, health, and disease, highlighting how cultural beliefs and practices shape perceptions of health and illness. Culture is described as a complex system of knowledge and customs transmitted from generation to generation, encompassing language, customs, and values. The paper emphasizes that concepts of health and disease can vary significantly across cultures. Different cultural backgrounds lead to diverse interpretations of what constitutes health or illness. Cultural beliefs influence how individuals perceive their health and respond to medical interventions. The text examines the example of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), which differs from Western medicine by focusing on restoring balance and harmonizing energies within the body. The contrast between these two medical paradigms highlights the impact of culture on healthcare approaches. The paper also discusses the cultural acceptance of practices that may be harmful to health, such as incest in certain societies. These practices are considered sacred customs within those cultures, reflecting how cultural ideologies can shape disease risks. Furthermore, the paper explores how cultural factors interact with political and economic forces to create specific health risks and behaviors within societies. It emphasizes that culture plays a pivotal role in shaping human behavior and social acceptance. The paper concludes by emphasizing the enduring influence of culture on perceptions of health and disease throughout history, highlighting how cultural beliefs and practices continue to impact individuals' health experiences and outcomes Journal: Community and Interculturality in Dialogue Pages: 94 Volume: 4 Issue: Year: 2024 Subtitle : DOI: 10.56294/cid202494 Handle: RePEc:dbk:commun:v:4:y:2024:i::p:94:id:94 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Juana Paulina Carhuamaca Barbaran Author-Name: Rosa Laura Cuitiño Author-Name: Nilda Susana Gómez Author-Name: Cristian Ezequiel Jaramillo Author-Name: Antonella Soledad Meza Author-Name: Ileana Belen Nieto Title: Death as a thread of Cultural and Religious Identity Abstract: This article approaches death from an anthropological perspective, exploring its historical evolution and its influence on diverse cultures and societies. It begins by examining how anthropology has contributed to our understanding of death, from its roots in the supernatural to contemporary approaches. Three pivotal periods in anthropological death research are identified: the twentieth-century evolutionary, the heyday of symbolic anthropology, and the current interdisciplinary era. The analysis focuses on the impact of European colonization in the New World and how anthropology emerged as a tool for documenting and understanding cultural and religious changes among indigenous populations who encountered the colonizers. In addition, it explores funerary beliefs and practices in diverse cultures, from the Incas in Argentina to contemporary native cultures in the same country. It highlights rituals and conceptions of death in different religions, including Catholicism, Buddhism, Islam and others. The article underscores the importance of appreciating the cultural diversity surrounding death in a globalized world. Despite superficial differences, death remains a universal theme that raises fundamental questions about life and transcendence. Understanding how different cultures confront and give meaning to death is essential to promote cross-cultural empathy and respect in today's society Journal: Community and Interculturality in Dialogue Pages: 96 Volume: 4 Issue: Year: 2024 Subtitle : DOI: 10.56294/cid202496 Handle: RePEc:dbk:commun:v:4:y:2024:i::p:96:id:96 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Jerónimo Araneo Author-Name: Franco Ivan Escudero Author-Name: Maria Agustina Muñoz Arbizu Author-Name: Camila Belén Trivarelli Author-Name: Margarita Camila Van Den Dooren Author-Name: Marcela Lichtensztejn Author-Name: Carlos Oscar Lepez Title: Wellness and Integrative Health Education Campaign by undergraduate students in Music Therapy Abstract: Introduction: educational experiences based on the model of critical pedagogy favor the appropriation of knowledge and information used in the fields of social and cultural exchange as well as in the acquisition of competences that contribute to the graduate's profile through the operative and instrumental design, as is the case of the health education campaign on wellbeing and integral health carried out by students of the Bachelor's Degree in Music Therapy at the University of Business and Social Sciences (UCES).  Methods: the study is qualitative with a narrative approach and dialogic analysis.  Results: educational objectives were achieved in a double sense on the one hand in students of the Bachelor's Degree in Music Therapy and in the community participating in the activity of the health education campaign of wellbeing and integral health within the framework of the evaluation instance of the bimonthly optional curricular space: Public Health developed on October 6, 2023, highlighting the relevance of the task and the value of dimensioning the discipline of music therapy in health sciences.  Conclusions: the contributions referred to are materialized as symbolic elaborations that resignify the educational experience, the cooperative learning process, the strengthening of competences defined in the graduate's profile, the integration of music therapy in public health scenarios and devices, as well as the community practice mediated by a programmed activity, elaborated, and developed in situ linking the relationship between the university and the community Journal: Community and Interculturality in Dialogue Pages: 117 Volume: 4 Issue: Year: 2024 Subtitle : DOI: 10.56294/cid2024117 Handle: RePEc:dbk:commun:v:4:y:2024:i::p:117:id:117 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Maria Lilda Barzola Baez Author-Name: Selene Maribel Ramos Author-Name: Estela del Valle Vasquez Title: Traditional Medicine in Latin America: a holistic approach to health Abstract: Traditional medicine has been an integral part of human healthcare for centuries, offering a holistic approach to health that goes beyond merely treating physical symptoms. In Latin America, this approach has deep historical roots and has played a significant role in the region's cultural identity. such as social rejection of biomedicine, limited access to biomedical services, and the high cost of medical care. However, there has been a decline in the prevalence of traditional medicine in recent decades, with a decrease in traditional healers and an increasing reliance on biomedical care. This trend varies across different regions, but overall, there is a diminishing number of traditional healers, raising concerns about the potential disappearance of traditional medicine. Despite these challenges, traditional medicine remains a valuable part of healthcare in Latin America. Its cultural significance, holistic approach, and the trust it garners from certain communities make it relevant even in today's rapidly advancing medical landscape. Looking to the future, the field of medicine is poised for significant developments, including advancements in diagnosis, surgery, and treatment methods. While antibiotics have been essential in the fight against infectious diseases, bacterial resistance is a growing concern. Future medical breakthroughs are expected to involve vaccines, gene therapy, monoclonal antibodies, and stem cell transplants. In conclusion, traditional medicine in Latin America reflects a holistic approach to healthcare deeply intertwined with cultural and historical contexts. As modern medicine continues to evolve, there is potential for integrating traditional and scientific knowledge to create a more comprehensive approach to health and well-being, respecting the rich heritage of traditional practices Journal: Community and Interculturality in Dialogue Pages: 120 Volume: 4 Issue: Year: 2024 Subtitle : DOI: 10.56294/cid2024120 Handle: RePEc:dbk:commun:v:4:y:2024:i::p:120:id:120 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Alison Julieth Calderon Amaya Author-Name: Maribel Garcia Rojas Title: The art of seduce through a distinctive brand and women's lingerie Abstract: The following article is presented with the aim of discovering a fascinating world between various components such as art, marketing and creativity; fundamentally in understanding the background of what is now brand positioning, its numerous approaches and analyzing different points of view, highlighting that unique experiences must be generated for each user and bet on having a positive impact against the perception obtained by part of the users, thus achieving a loyalty connection. In addition, they must submit their interventions to an analysis based on scientific research for accurate evaluation. It is important to note that educational intervention and pedagogical intervention are not identical concepts, and it is necessary to establish the differences between the two. Educational intervention implies respecting the agency of the learner, which means that the educator's actions should result in a response on the part of the learner that does not necessarily have to be intentionally educational in nature, but may be a genuine outcome. On the other hand, pedagogical intervention refers to intentional actions that are carried out in the context of the educational task, with the purpose of achieving objectives and using resources supported by sound knowledge about education and the functioning of the educational system. This paper addresses the uniqueness of educational intervention and highlights its strength and validity when based on scientific research Journal: Community and Interculturality in Dialogue Pages: 70 Volume: 3 Issue: Year: 2023 Subtitle : DOI: 10.56294/cid202370 Handle: RePEc:dbk:commun:v:3:y:2023:i::p:70:id:70 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: María de las Nieves Veloz Montano Author-Name: María de la Caridad González Martínez Author-Name: Leonardo Pérez Lemus Title: Rehabilitation of occupational stress from the perspective of Health Education Abstract: Job stress is linked to mental, physiological and neurobiological alterations that contribute to the development of cognitive problems and the depletion of workers' health. This problem has led to an increase in prolonged periods of work inactivity, the emergence of chronic diseases, unfortunate occupational accidents and even, in the most serious cases, the loss of human lives. This tragic situation could be prevented to a large extent through solid Health Promotion and Education. The paper we present adopts a critical perspective with respect to Health Education, considering it not only as a preventive strategy that disseminates information and seeks to maintain optimal health in the economically active population, but also as an interdisciplinary task that involves the redesign of the work organization. Emphasizes the complexity of this alternative approach and its importance in addressing work-related stress more effectively Journal: Community and Interculturality in Dialogue Pages: 71 Volume: 3 Issue: Year: 2023 Subtitle : DOI: 10.56294/cid202371 Handle: RePEc:dbk:commun:v:3:y:2023:i::p:71:id:71 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Lázaro Pablo Linares Cánovas Author-Name: Liyansis Bárbara Linares Cánovas Author-Name: Yoelys Pereda Rodríguez Author-Name: Beatriz Gallardo Hernández Author-Name: Martha María Pérez Martín Author-Name: Adalina Linares Montano Title: Evaluation of Burnout Syndrome and associated factors in primary care health personnel Abstract: Objective: to evaluate Burnout syndrome and associated factors in health personnel of Primary Care.  Methods: observational, analytical, cross-sectional study, carried out in Pinar del Río during January 2023, in non-probabilistic sampling for convenience, of 127 participants, who met the inclusion criteria. Depersonalization was associated with religion (p=0,001), sleeping eight hours a day (p=0,016), smoking (p=0,001) and satisfaction with economic income (p=0,011); while professional achievement was related to sleeping eight hours a day (p<0,001), adequate dietary habits (p=0,038) and satisfaction with economic income (p=0,016).  Conclusions: Burnout syndrome was evaluated in primary care health personnel, identifying the demographic characteristics, lifestyle and work variables of the sample, and their relationship with professional exhaustion Journal: Community and Interculturality in Dialogue Pages: 73 Volume: 3 Issue: Year: 2023 Subtitle : DOI: 10.56294/cid202373 Handle: RePEc:dbk:commun:v:3:y:2023:i::p:73:id:73 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Camilo Silva-Sánchez Title: The impact of fibromyalgia on society Abstract: Fibromyalgia is a disease characterized by intense generalized chronic musculoskeletal pain. Its etiology is not known and there is no curative treatment but only symptomatic and focused on pain management. The lack of empathy on the part of family, work, friends, and health professionals increases the psychosocial discomfort. Educating the population and health professionals on the behavior of the disease could be an opportunity to improve social ties, including friendships, family, health, and work. The development of the community approach in the study of fibromyalgia is of significant importance in the understanding and management of this complex chronic disease. Fibromyalgia not only affects the individual sufferer, but also has a profound impact on their social and family environment. By adopting a community approach, it is recognized that community support and understanding is crucial to improving the quality of life for those living with fibromyalgia. This approach involves building support networks and promoting public awareness of fibromyalgia, which in turn reduces the stigma associated with the disease. In addition, the development of community education programs and support groups can help empower people with fibromyalgia to better manage their symptoms and find effective coping strategies Journal: Community and Interculturality in Dialogue Pages: 75 Volume: 3 Issue: Year: 2023 Subtitle : DOI: 10.56294/cid202375 Handle: RePEc:dbk:commun:v:3:y:2023:i::p:75:id:75 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Rosa María Montano-Silva Author-Name: Thalía Fernández-Breffe Author-Name: Yoneisy Abraham-Millán Author-Name: Iraida Céspedes-Proenza Author-Name: Eridania Pantoja-García Title: “Tooth fairy" educational strategy for infants in the fifth year of life Abstract: Introduction: caries in early childhood is one of the most frequent diseases and can influence the development of the infant. Childhood is a stage characterized by intense learning processes and fundamental in the formation of habits and behaviors in the process of education and human development. It depends on the joint action of teachers, health personnel and legal guardians that infants have access and opportunity to transform health information into knowledge, attitudes and adequate practices that allow them to take care of and protect their health.  Objective: to implement the educational strategy "The Tooth Fairy" in infants in the fifth year of life.  Methods: a quasi-experimental before-and-after study with a control group was carried out. The sample consisted of 34 infants in the fifth year of life in the Juan Delio Chacón neighborhood, obtained by simple random sampling.  Results: before the intervention, a poor level of knowledge about oral health predominated in the infants, representing 70,6 % of the experimental group, as well as in the legal guardians and educators for 56,7 %, raising it to good after the intervention in 88,2 % and 86,66 % respectively. Conclusions: the implementation of the strategy in the educational context, involving families, educators and community proved to be effective since it modified lifestyles and lifestyles, also increasing the level of knowledge about oral health of infants, educators and legal guardians Journal: Community and Interculturality in Dialogue Pages: 77 Volume: 3 Issue: Year: 2023 Subtitle : DOI: 10.56294/cid202377 Handle: RePEc:dbk:commun:v:3:y:2023:i::p:77:id:77 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Romina Rueda Author-Name: David Castillo Author-Name: Marcelo Díaz García Author-Name: Yamila Mena Title: Organizational consolidation strategy of the Asociación Civil Líderes Enfermeros Journal: Community and Interculturality in Dialogue Pages: 91 Volume: 3 Issue: Year: 2023 Subtitle : DOI: 10.56294/cid202391 Handle: RePEc:dbk:commun:v:3:y:2023:i::p:91:id:91 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Mercedes Shuman Padrón Title: The improvement of preschool educators in communication skills: describing and narrating from an interdisciplinary perspective Abstract: This article explores the crucial stage of early childhood in the formation of personality, emphasizing the importance of high-quality education for children from 0 to 6 years of age. It underlines the need for a complete and constant preparation during this vital phase, highlighting the fundamental role of teachers in improving their pedagogical performance. The main objective of the article is to present preliminary findings of an exploratory study. This study focuses on the professional needs and deficiencies of teachers dedicated to the communicative skills in Mother Tongue during Early Childhood, specifically in the Luyanó Popular Council of the Diez de Octubre municipality, Havana. The results suggest that these needs can be effectively addressed through a professional improvement approach that is systematic and continuous. This approach includes the management of fundamental theoretical tools based on cognitive, communicative and sociocultural perspectives, as well as the conception of an interdisciplinary and enriching educational process Journal: Community and Interculturality in Dialogue Pages: 92 Volume: 3 Issue: Year: 2023 Subtitle : DOI: 10.56294/cid202392 Handle: RePEc:dbk:commun:v:3:y:2023:i::p:92:id:92 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Jerónimo Araneo Author-Name: Franco Ivan Escudero Author-Name: Maria Agustina Muñoz Arbizu Author-Name: Camila Belén Trivarelli Author-Name: Margarita Camila Van Den Dooren Author-Name: Marcela Lichtensztejn Author-Name: Carlos Oscar Lepez Title: Wellness and Integrative Health Education Campaign by undergraduate students in Music Therapy Abstract: Introduction: educational experiences based on the model of critical pedagogy favor the appropriation of knowledge and information used in the fields of social and cultural exchange as well as in the acquisition of competences that contribute to the graduate's profile through the operative and instrumental design, as is the case of the health education campaign on wellbeing and integral health carried out by students of the Bachelor's Degree in Music Therapy at the University of Business and Social Sciences (UCES). Conclusions: the contributions referred to are materialized as symbolic elaborations that resignify the educational experience, the cooperative learning process, the strengthening of competences defined in the graduate's profile, the integration of music therapy in public health scenarios and devices, as well as the community practice mediated by a programmed activity, elaborated, and developed in situ linking the relationship between the university and the community Journal: Community and Interculturality in Dialogue Pages: 117 Volume: 3 Issue: Year: 2023 Subtitle : DOI: 10.56294/cid2023117 Handle: RePEc:dbk:commun:v:3:y:2023:i::p:117:id:117 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Judith Bonilla Coronado Author-Name: María Paula Licona Vidal Author-Name: Gabriela Agustina Ravilli Author-Name: Micaela Daiana Rosario Author-Name: Aiza Miriam Lorena Santos Author-Name: María Paola Soria Guzman Title: Conception of death in different cultures and funeral rites in Bolivia, China, Indonesia, Madagascar and USA Abstract: In some cultures, death is associated with different rituals and customs to help people grieving. Rituals offer people ways to process and express their grief. They also provide ways for the community to help people who are grieving. Death can cause chaos, anger, and confusion. That is where the community comes in to support and help cope with grief. Funeral rites are symbolic systems that represent specific socio-cultural practices of the human species; they are a means to facilitate the arrival of the soul to its place of destination through religious or pagan acts, methods to ward off and scare away evil spirits or to prevent the dead from appearing and disturbing the living. After analyzing the concept of death in the proposed cultures, differences and similarities were observed in their conceptions and meanings; they all share the feeling of honoring, loving, caring, and commemorating their deceased. Each celebration is a tribute to the loved one on a particular date, depending on the culture and geographical region, such as Bolivia, China, Indonesia, Madagascar, New Orleans, and Parsis (Persians). In the different funeral rites, we could appreciate death's diverse manifestations and beliefs and its connotations, such as honoring, entertaining, feeding, grooming, decorating the deceased, and respecting and venerating nature Journal: Community and Interculturality in Dialogue Pages: 64 Volume: 3 Issue: Year: 2023 Subtitle : DOI: 10.56294/cid202364 Handle: RePEc:dbk:commun:v:3:y:2023:i::p:64:id:64 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Laura Ines Amada Author-Name: Victoria Soledad Burgos Author-Name: Miriam Ferreyra Author-Name: Diana Beatriz Leguizamón Ibañez Author-Name: Verónica Estefanía Lopez Author-Name: Digna Zoraida Rivas Medina Author-Name: Georgina Micaela Siñani Condori Title: Social construction of illness and disease Abstract: The meaning of illness varies according to the paradigm and the perspective it approaches. From the positivist paradigm, typical of the field of biomedicine, the disease is conceived from a mechanistic or biologistic point of view so that priority is given to the organic alteration that occurs in the human body, ignoring the subjectivity inherent in this process. We will analyze the social construction of illness through an anthropological perspective, including considerations of the role of society, the conditioning factors and effects observed in this process and the social responses that medicine assumes in this dynamic. In nature, disease does not exist as such but as a biological phenomenon that can only be distinguished because it breaks a specific sequence of events that are part of a continuous process. With the witnessing eye of the human being, this phenomenon makes sense. It is the individual and society that give the label of disease to a particular event. This label is the result of a social construction and, as such, is described in this article from a sociological point of view. Illness is constructed through a doctor-patient bond in which roles and expectations of mutual fulfilment are generated. Medicine is a response of the culture to legitimize the condition of sickness in someone who cannot continue to fulfil his or her usual roles. Some schools consider illness a legitimate deviation as long as it is assumed that the patient is not responsible for his ailment; if responsibility is assumed, the illness is considered an illegitimate deviation with a solid moral pejorative condition Journal: Community and Interculturality in Dialogue Pages: 65 Volume: 3 Issue: Year: 2023 Subtitle : DOI: 10.56294/cid202365 Handle: RePEc:dbk:commun:v:3:y:2023:i::p:65:id:65 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Natalia Fernanda Lobaisa Author-Name: Tania Mara Payti Claros Title: Culture, Society and Health Abstract: The disease -according to their beliefs- came from these divinities that could "damage," "possess" the individual, penetrate objects, "take out" the soul, etc. In this case, in a distant time, it could be observed that health was intervened by the religious mythical and was not based on the scientific. Knowing that medicine is a social and humanistic science, which is responsible for curing and preventing diseases, we can affirm that to achieve this objective, it is fundamentally necessary to raise awareness in society (we have a concrete and recent example which was the pandemic of Covid-19, in which the different societies dealt with the issue in different ways, previously it was HIV in the 80's or cholera in the early 90's in Argentina). Anthropology provides a significant social, cultural, and ancestral contribution since it allows us to know how communities that do not have access to health centers or advanced medicine use healing methods or alternative medicine for these communities to be effective or believe in their functioning. However, some people see them as antiquated methods. Therefore, Anthropology must make its social contribution from a deep study of the different societies to a joint work with other health disciplines to achieve, in the short term, individuals or societies prepared for future new diseases that may arise or current diseases that spread surprisingly Journal: Community and Interculturality in Dialogue Pages: 66 Volume: 3 Issue: Year: 2023 Subtitle : DOI: 10.56294/cid202366 Handle: RePEc:dbk:commun:v:3:y:2023:i::p:66:id:66 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: María Bertalisa Delgado Mejía Title: Nursing care to prevent ventilator-associated pneumonias in adult patients Abstract: Introduction: Pneumonia associated with mechanical ventilation is a serious complication in patients with artificial airway in intensive care units, increasing morbidity and mortality. It increases the use of antibiotics, oropharyngeal microbial resistance increasing the risk, driving the need for preventive strategies.  Methods: a review of scientific articles published between (2018-2023) in PubMed was conducted. Key terms: nursing prevention, Pneumonia associated with mechanical ventilation in adults. Fourteen relevant studies were selected for analysis, looking for preventive measures of mechanical ventilation-associated pneumonia.  Results: 14 articles analyzed in the last 5 years (2018-2023), focused on prevention of mechanical ventilation-associated pneumonia. The most effective preventive measures included head-of-bed elevation, oral hygiene with chlorhexidine, subglottic suctioning, and endotracheal tube pressure control. Implementation of these strategies decreased the incidence of ventilator-associated pneumonia and improved the recovery of patients on mechanical ventilation.  Conclusion: ventilator-associated pneumonia represents a challenge in intensive care units, with high mortality. Preventive measures, such as bundles of care, can reduce infections and improve patient health. Nursing staff collaboration is essential for the successful implementation of preventive strategies in older patients to reduce the risks associated with mechanical ventilation and improve care in the intensive care unit Journal: Community and Interculturality in Dialogue Pages: 69 Volume: 3 Issue: Year: 2023 Subtitle : DOI: 10.56294/cid202369 Handle: RePEc:dbk:commun:v:3:y:2023:i::p:69:id:69 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Misael Ron Author-Name: Evelin Escalona Title: The dynamic nature of scientific knowledge: an epistemological look at the research activity of human hand anthropometry Abstract: This research focuses on analyzing the dynamic nature of scientific knowledge from an epistemological perspective, focusing specifically on anthropometric research of the human hand. The main objective of this study is to examine how knowledge is generated and evolves in this field, in the light of epistemological theories such as Lakatos'. Key concepts of epistemology and philosophy of science are addressed, including the theories of Lakatos, Popper, Kuhn and Feyerabend. Subsequently, Lakatos' theory of Scientific Investigation Programs (SIPs) is applied to the field of hand anthropometry, identifying its fundamental core (which refers to the belief in the relevance of hand measurements) and its protective belt (comprising auxiliary theories and methods). It discusses how both heuristics and empirical evidence drive the evolution of knowledge in this field, also emphasizing the importance of creative inquiry, scientific debate, and methodological rigor. Ultimately, it is concluded that anthropometric research eloquently exemplifies the inherent dynamic nature of scientific knowledge Journal: Community and Interculturality in Dialogue Pages: 72 Volume: 3 Issue: Year: 2023 Subtitle : DOI: 10.56294/cid202372 Handle: RePEc:dbk:commun:v:3:y:2023:i::p:72:id:72 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Carlos Oscar Lepez Author-Name: Irene Amelia Simeoni Title: Pedagogical experience with Public Health campaigns from the design of socio-educational projects with insertion in the local territory Abstract: Introduction: in today's society, educational management has become an imperative for the creation of knowledge and innovative educational experiences. In the context of the Bachelor's Degree in Nursing at the University of Buenos Aires, a pedagogical experience focused on a public health campaign on Dengue was carried out. The main objective of this experience was to promote the democratization of scientific and health knowledge in relation to Dengue, guaranteeing the right of access to public health information. We sought to create an environment conducive to learning, active participation of students and interaction with the community. Development: the experience was divided into three stages: initial, progressive and territorial anchoring. In the initial stage, students were prepared through theoretical and technical sessions. The progressive stage involved adjustments and corrections in collaboration with the teaching team. In the territorial anchoring stage, groups of students carried out the public health campaign in sectors close to the university. The evaluation was carried out using group monitoring instruments and a checklist to evaluate the individual performance of the students. A review and feedback meeting was also held at the end of the experience. Conclusions: the proposed pedagogical experience demonstrated that effective educational management can promote the democratization of knowledge in the field of public health. Collaboration among students and the focus on the right of access to public health information are key elements. In addition, the importance of constant adaptation of educational practices to scientific and technological advances is highlighted. On the other hand, it provided an effective framework for the training of nursing students and the promotion of public health, demonstrating the importance of educational management in today's society Journal: Community and Interculturality in Dialogue Pages: 74 Volume: 3 Issue: Year: 2023 Subtitle : DOI: 10.56294/cid202374 Handle: RePEc:dbk:commun:v:3:y:2023:i::p:74:id:74 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Lorena P. López Torres Title: Photographic images of indigenous peoples in contemporary Chilean poetry Abstract: This article analyzes the literary proposals De la tierra sin fuegos (1986) and Reducciones (2012) by the Chilean poets Juan Pablo Riveros and Jaime Huenún respectively; works in which the intersection between word and image is privileged in a deconstructive and questioning eagerness. The photographic image of native peoples that is materially incorporated into the textual body of the poems comes, on the one hand, from ethnographic/anthropometric archives, from the priest and ethnologist Martin Gusinde, and from the scientists Robert Lehmann-Nitsche, Herman Ten Kate, Francisco P. Moreno and Hans Virchow. Through this verbovisual assemblage, two different perspectives are presented regarding the procedures of scrutiny that the ethnologist/scientist follows when approaching the indigenous person and the reading he makes of him and his culture: the first becomes a fellow tribesman, while the others exercise a biosocial control over the indigenous person by freely disposing of his corporeality for scientific purposes. In this way, the texts resort to images to reflect on the materialization of ethnographic photography and the material and metaphysical "capture" of the indigenous; they problematize the photographic act, the revealing character of the image and its scenic implications in the exhibition of the indigenous in order to corroborate, denounce and give a face to these subjects. In addition, they point to the hunters and situate the historical context under which these takeovers take place, that is, they are images that violate the viewer by confronting him with the usurpation and death that weighs on the indigenous, particularly in contexts of internal colonization (nineteenth and twentieth centuries) Journal: Community and Interculturality in Dialogue Pages: 76 Volume: 3 Issue: Year: 2023 Subtitle : DOI: 10.56294/cid202376 Handle: RePEc:dbk:commun:v:3:y:2023:i::p:76:id:76 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Grisel Lara Flores Author-Name: Roció Florencia Romero Title: Curanderismo in Argentina: a view to diversity Abstract: Healing practices have existed worldwide in different cultures since ancient times, have influenced throughout history, and are rooted in different cultures, demonstrating their importance in wellness and health care. “Curanderismo” it is a set of practices exercised by healers in a ceremony; it is an ancestral custom perpetuated over the centuries, combining traditional indigenous medicine and folk medicine. Its anthropological position may also incorporate the traditional roles of the healing man and the shaman. The curandero in Argentina country has a deep spiritual and cultural meaning. However, with the advance of the current medina, it is still a valid option, respected by communities or individuals seeking comprehensive care or an approach to healing from the spiritual. Encouraging interdisciplinary contact between healers and traditional practitioners is relevant for exchange, collaboration, and mutual respect to better understand the healing practices and their effectiveness. The curandismo acquires relevance due to the connection of beliefs of social groups because health is understood as a balance of nature and its elements. It is seen as an intermediary between the real and spiritual world. However, it should be appropriately regulated, promoting a regularization to prevent and guarantee the patient's health, promoting and eliminating barriers with a responsible, ethical approach that can play a valuable role in health care and well-being Journal: Community and Interculturality in Dialogue Pages: 78 Volume: 3 Issue: Year: 2023 Subtitle : DOI: 10.56294/cid202378 Handle: RePEc:dbk:commun:v:3:y:2023:i::p:78:id:78 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Vanesa Elizabeth Barrientos Author-Name: Anabel Jurado Title: Sacred Transits: Exploring Death Through Religious Mosaic Abstract: Death is a reality in the lives of all human beings, and although nobody wants to talk about it, it is a part of the life cycle that we will all go through at some point. It is also a reality that, as health professionals, nursing plays a fundamental role since it is part of this painful scenario that we cannot ignore daily. After analyzing the concepts of death in Catholicism, Jehovah's Witnesses, Judaism and Evangelism, we can say that death is, for these religions, the separation of body and soul, which will be united again at the moment of resurrection; for this reason, the body is honoured and prayed for the purification of the souls. The deceased and the grieving family members have faith that at the moment of resurrection, they will be with God and meet again and share an eternal life. Knowledge of the concept of death in different religions provides nursing with a tool to understand, for example, the palliative care patient and his family, a grandmother who gives us a holy card of Jesus to place on her granddaughter's bedside table, the parents of a critically ill newborn who ask permission for the congregation to say a prayer on behalf of their child, as well as the parents of another non-viable newborn who ask permission for the priest to anoint him with holy water. These are situations that remind us that nurses should not only master the technique but also understand people as a whole being, and for this, they should understand the religious beliefs that guide their behaviour, such as not accepting blood donations, refusing to donate organs or not allowing the autopsy or cremation of a family member Journal: Community and Interculturality in Dialogue Pages: 79 Volume: 3 Issue: Year: 2023 Subtitle : DOI: 10.56294/cid202379 Handle: RePEc:dbk:commun:v:3:y:2023:i::p:79:id:79 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Antonella Linares Author-Name: Juan Carlos Manos Author-Name: Ivana Lourdes Tolaba Title: Illness and death: how we cope with the end of life of a family member as health professionals Abstract: As healthcare professionals, we face the daily challenge of providing quality care to our patients with different pathologies at different stages, often even at the end of life. However, what happens when one of our family members is the one who is going through the end of life? Are we able to get involved as primary caregivers? If we do, how does it affect us emotionally? Has our profession given us the necessary tools to handle such a situation? We ask these questions based on the premise that, although we are dedicated to caring for others, we are only sometimes prepared to do so with people we are united by love or affection. About the subject of study of this work, we highlight the personal experiences of this team and colleagues, who could/we were able to contribute different life experiences in the personal sphere without leaving aside our professionalism when making decisions, finding a bibliography that relates in a scientific and empirical professional way that serves us as a theoretical framework, but that does not propose its application in the specificity that we propose, that is, our professional being related to the personal experience lived. As a common denominator, most of the colleagues consulted, and ourselves believe that experience in the practical field helps us to provide comfort and security to both the patient and the family environment, not only in the end-of-life process but also in the context of some pathology in the acute phase Journal: Community and Interculturality in Dialogue Pages: 80 Volume: 3 Issue: Year: 2023 Subtitle : DOI: 10.56294/cid202380 Handle: RePEc:dbk:commun:v:3:y:2023:i::p:80:id:80 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Noemi Dora Gomez Author-Name: Kjara Aidee Limachi Author-Name: Giselle Daiana Mendez Author-Name: Andrea Soledad Ramirez Author-Name: Anahi Juliana Saavedra Author-Name: Marina Lilliam Taboada Title: Understanding Departure: Diversity of Perspectives on Death in Societies and Religions Abstract: For biomedicine, "death is the irreversible loss of the capacity and content of the consciousness that provides the essential attributes of the human being and that integrate the functioning of the organism as a whole". Until well into the 19th century, the organ that determined a person's death was the heart. If the heart stopped beating, death had won the battle; however, with the advance of medicine, other signs are considered to declare a person dead. Among these biological signs are the cessation of brain function, breathing, blood circulation and when the heart stops beating. Doctors affirm that a brain-dead person manifests the absence of movements, repeated grimaces, incessant blinking, not responding to light and not breathing independently. To conclude with this essay, we must recognize the importance for us as health professionals who evidence death in our daily lives to be aware of the concept of death since this allows us to articulate the attitudes that are socially assumed in front of it and in general, with the social game; and, at the same time, how this practice favours that awareness and know how different cultures, societies and religions face death, in order to be able to be nurses with an intercultural vision about death Journal: Community and Interculturality in Dialogue Pages: 81 Volume: 3 Issue: Year: 2023 Subtitle : DOI: 10.56294/cid202381 Handle: RePEc:dbk:commun:v:3:y:2023:i::p:81:id:81 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Maria Isabel Morgner Author-Name: Lorena Djament Title: Impact of Preventive and Mandatory Social Isolation in the control of type I diabetes in adults in the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area Abstract: Introduction: the measures taken by the Argentine government to avoid contagion of the SARS-CoV-2 virus consisted in what was called Preventive and Mandatory Social Isolation (Aislamiento Social Preventivo y Obligatorio, ASPO), which was established on March 20th of 2020. The disposition restricted medical checkups and physical activity for several months and modified the population’s eating habits. Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a high incidence and prevalence pathology worldwide. While the majority of the patients suffer from DM II, the percentage of DM I and its peculiarities make worth an analysis regarding the COVID-19 pandemic.  Methods: assessing the impact of ASPO on the metabolic control of patients who live in the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area (AMBA) during the period March-December 2020.  Results: of the 45 subjects involved in the study, 42,2 % saw an increase in their HbA1c level, did not know the value, or did not get tested. This is a situation of clinical interest for a more exhaustive follow-up. In addition, 60 % of the total gained weight and 38 % decreased the frequency of physical activity, while 35 % did not perform any activity at all. Furthermore, 73,3 % reported having experienced anxiety, 64,4 % apathy, and 60 %, sadness.  Conclusion: the impossibility of carrying out ordinary activities, the suspension or reduction of frequency of physical exercise, and the increase and modification of the quality of meals with the resulting weight gain had an impact on the rising of HbA1c levels during the Preventive and Mandatory Social Isolation Journal: Community and Interculturality in Dialogue Pages: 82 Volume: 3 Issue: Year: 2023 Subtitle : DOI: 10.56294/cid202382 Handle: RePEc:dbk:commun:v:3:y:2023:i::p:82:id:82 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Yangel Fuentes Milián Title: Social projection of Pharmacology from medical education Abstract: Introduction: pharmacology has been positioned as a fundamental pillar of university medical training, and as such, it obeys a process that contributes to increasing the skills of future health professionals. Bibliometrics and scientometrics are increasingly positioned as essential disciplines to measure the results of science, and despite this, not all members of the student scientific community recognize them as necessary in the information and communications era, as a way to improve and bring to higher levels the excellence in the student research process and its impact on scientific publications. Bibliometrics studies the quantitative aspects of the production, dissemination and use of recorded information, to which end it develops mathematical models and measurements that, in turn, serve to make forecasts and decisions about these processes. For its part, scientometrics studies the quantitative aspects of science as a discipline or economic activity, is part of the sociology of science, and finds application in the establishment of scientific policies, where it includes, among others, those of publication Journal: Community and Interculturality in Dialogue Pages: 88 Volume: 3 Issue: Year: 2023 Subtitle : DOI: 10.56294/cid202388 Handle: RePEc:dbk:commun:v:3:y:2023:i::p:88:id:88 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Ramona Cristina Radaelli Author-Name: Esmeralda Marina Quipildor Title: Perception of illness and death in the nursing setting Abstract: This paper delves into how nurses perceive illness and death and how it impacts their daily practice. Nurses must engage in ongoing self-reflection to provide compassionate care and address the complex emotional aspects of their profession Journal: Community and Interculturality in Dialogue Pages: 93 Volume: 4 Issue: Year: 2023 Subtitle : DOI: 10.56294/cid202393 Handle: RePEc:dbk:commun:v:4:y:2023:i::p:93:id:93 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Gisela Noemí Escalante Author-Name: Romina Noelia Ganz Author-Name: Daiana Loreley Mendez Minetti Title: Influence of culture on disease perception Abstract: This scientific paper explores the complex relationship between culture, health, and disease, highlighting how cultural beliefs and practices shape perceptions of health and illness. The paper concludes by emphasizing the enduring influence of culture on perceptions of health and disease throughout history, highlighting how cultural beliefs and practices continue to impact individuals' health experiences and outcomes Journal: Community and Interculturality in Dialogue Pages: 94 Volume: 3 Issue: Year: 2023 Subtitle : DOI: 10.56294/cid202394 Handle: RePEc:dbk:commun:v:3:y:2023:i::p:94:id:94 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Juana Paulina Carhuamaca Barbaran Author-Name: Rosa Laura Cuitiño Author-Name: Nilda Susana Gómez Author-Name: Cristian Ezequiel Jaramillo Author-Name: Antonella Soledad Meza Author-Name: Ileana Belen Nieto Title: Death as a thread of Cultural and Religious Identity Abstract: This article approaches death from an anthropological perspective, exploring its historical evolution and its influence on diverse cultures and societies. Understanding how different cultures confront and give meaning to death is essential to promote cross-cultural empathy and respect in today's society Journal: Community and Interculturality in Dialogue Pages: 96 Volume: 3 Issue: Year: 2023 Subtitle : DOI: 10.56294/cid202396 Handle: RePEc:dbk:commun:v:3:y:2023:i::p:96:id:96 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Marcela R. Miranda Aldana Title: The violence of love: psychoanalytic perspective Abstract: A theoretical elaboration is presented around the question: what is the violence of love, from the psychoanalytic perspective, in our days? To do this, he realizes the increasingly evident social expressions of destruction in the name of love, and that lead to mental health problems, due to the confusion of the signifier as sacrificed and as sacrificial, as lost or as an instrument. From this perspective, several little-addressed proposals emerge, such as inquiring about the nature of love, its causes, its forms of action, and with unavoidable links that, up to now, are usually presented as opposed to violence, which nevertheless is revealed no longer in opposition, but in a constitutive bond of love itself. The theme of the violence of love, in this sense, requires a resignation, and this is to study love isolated from its amalgamic component. To go deeper into this perspective, the psychoanalytic perspective provides considerations that require reflections established even outside the classical discourse, such as its romantic definition Journal: Community and Interculturality in Dialogue Pages: 98 Volume: 3 Issue: Year: 2023 Subtitle : DOI: 10.56294/cid202398 Handle: RePEc:dbk:commun:v:3:y:2023:i::p:98:id:98 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Marcela López Pacheco Author-Name: Oliva López Sánchez Title: Affected Mexico human papillomavirus vaccine: a proposal for collective health care Abstract: The objective of this article is to analyze the process of formation of Afectadas México Vacuna Virus del Papiloma Humano, a group of mothers organized from the health affectations of their daughters attributed to the immunization against this virus, as a space of collective care. The qualitative research, with in-depth interviews and an analysis from the sociocultural perspective of emotions and crossed by gender, has focused on reflecting on the causes that have led these mothers, as primary caregivers in the process of care and attention to the health of the affected daughters, to build alternative spaces of visibility, mutual support, dialogue and collective denunciation, taking as main tool the use of social networks and digitality, as these are the most used means of mass contact at present, with projection to different social spheres.   From this study it has been concluded that the competent contexts to the health-disease-care process are not alien to social responses that take shape in organizations of denunciation, rejection and protest, even from a non-physical and conventional mobilization. The post-vaccine effect has served to make it clear that health is also a matter of social and political competition, in which emotions are the binding element that strengthens the union. The experience with the loss of the daughters' health links the expressions of feeling in action, interaction and politicization of women from their own material and ideological resources Journal: Community and Interculturality in Dialogue Pages: 99 Volume: 3 Issue: Year: 2023 Subtitle : DOI: 10.56294/cid202399 Handle: RePEc:dbk:commun:v:3:y:2023:i::p:99:id:99 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Guillermo Pérez Hernández Author-Name: Nelly Rigaud Téllez Author-Name: José Juan Rico C Author-Name: Leonel Gualberto López S Author-Name: Omar García L Title: Use of videos as a method of learning in social service projects Abstract: The impulse that accelerated the adoption of digital resources in education was the COVID-19, although many teachers and students were already using these resources effectively, they did not represent the majority and did not cover all educational levels, the transition was gradual, which required a great effort from both parties and everyone had to use new resources and digital tools to meet current educational demands, in addition to using teaching-learning strategies, which resulted in new skills and better opportunities for professional development. The support and collaboration between different areas and disciplines was fundamental for the success of education in this new modality. The use of video as a virtual learning resource is one of the challenges that add to this experience of digital transformation, in which the teacher must face the current challenges with the intention of innovating and adapting to changes quickly. Factors that can influence adherence include economic and social problems, urgency of treatment, fear of side effects, and the stigma associated with the disease. The importance of establishing a collaborative relationship and therapeutic alliance between the patient and the health professional to improve adherence is emphasized. The need for awareness on the part of both health care actors is highlighted, recognizing that therapeutic adherence is fundamental for successful treatment. The importance of overcoming the economic gap and patient resistance to spending to ensure effective medical care is also suggested Journal: Community and Interculturality in Dialogue Pages: 101 Volume: 3 Issue: Year: 2023 Subtitle : DOI: 10.56294/cid2023101 Handle: RePEc:dbk:commun:v:3:y:2023:i::p:101:id:101 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Héctor S. Barrón Soto Title: Of the virtual as a promotor of interpretations in the acting of the contemporary subject Abstract: A reflection on the concept of the virtual from a psychoanalytic perspective is elaborated, and its epistemological trajectory up to the present day is analyzed in order to identify its composition and its elements in relation to the structure of the subject, in order to locate its participation in the mechanisms of interpretation of the unconscious in psychoanalytic devices. Starting from the axiom that psychoanalysis is a praxis dedicated to acts, especially failed ones, and that the virtual, proposed as a performance without act, provides a power detached from signification, it is proposed that it finds expressions constituted either as symptoms -which are the ones of interest here, as language phenomena-, or as social representation scenarios such as "virtual reality", "virtualization phenomena", or "virtuality". The pertinence of this approach is sustained to the extent that the virtual has acquired not only a greater weight in the constitution of social relations, but its semblance is already seen as an inescapable factor to deepen the interpretation of that knowledge not known, or not wanted to know, of the subject of the unconscious Journal: Community and Interculturality in Dialogue Pages: 102 Volume: 3 Issue: Year: 2023 Subtitle : DOI: 10.56294/cid2023102 Handle: RePEc:dbk:commun:v:3:y:2023:i::p:102:id:102 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Matias Orsetti Author-Name: Yamila Bertolini Author-Name: Andrea Fabiana Villaalta Author-Name: Fernanda Creo Author-Name: Patricia Santillan Author-Name: Noemi Inzaurralde Title: Food safety and the approach of the Human Milk Collection Center at the Hospital Zonal General de Agudos “Prof. Dr. Ramón Carrillo” Abstract: Introduction: human milk banks are vital institutions for maternal and child health, promoting breastfeeding and neonatal care by processing and distributing donated breast milk. These banks contribute significantly to public and neonatal health by reducing medical complications and associated costs. In addition, they support maternal and child health policies, improving the quality of life of infants and reducing infant mortality. They are also fundamental for medical research on breast milk and its impact on infant health. Objective: to describe the implementation of a Critical Control Point analysis plan to ensure safe handling and increased volume of raw human milk. Methods: an observational and descriptive study was conducted in the milk bank, observing and documenting daily procedures and interviewing personnel. Internal documents were analyzed and a qualitative approach was applied to identify patterns and good practices. Results: preventive and precautionary measures were implemented to ensure food safety, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures for Cleaning and Disinfection (SSOP). Critical points such as personnel hygiene and storage temperature were controlled. Traceability from donor to recipient was maintained, ensuring that raw and pasteurized milk was properly labeled. A health services network was established with the HIGA San Martin de La Plata Milk Bank to distribute pasteurized milk equitably. Conclusions: the HIGA Prof. Dr. Ramon Carrillo HIGA milk bank has been successful in maintaining food security and increasing the availability of raw and pasteurized human milk. Despite challenges such as a building renovation, a rigorous control of critical points has been maintained. Cooperation with the HIGA San Martin Milk Bank has facilitated the equitable distribution of pasteurized milk. There are a series of social and cultural practices that condition the exclusion of trans people in different areas, particularly in the labor sector. Research with qualitative, exploratory, flexible design methodology was carried out with the objective of identifying the barriers in the hiring process of a trans person in a company of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires in the period from May to July 2022. After the development of this research, it was described how gender stereotypes typical of the heteropatriarchal system interfere negatively in the labor insertion of trans women. The recent research analyzed highlights the inequalities and exclusions that this group still suffers, both internationally and in the local context. Specifically in Argentina, it is observed that years after the enactment of the Gender Identity Law and the achievements made in recent years in terms of recognition, there is still resistance to change and evident forms of discrimination against this group in terms of labor market insertion Journal: Community and Interculturality in Dialogue Pages: 27 Volume: 2 Issue: Year: 2022 Subtitle : DOI: 10.56294/cid202227 Handle: RePEc:dbk:commun:v:2:y:2022:i::p:27:id:27 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Alan Cirulli Author-Name: Abigaíl Godoy Title: Gender, transsexuality and labor insertion Abstract: Introduction: transsexuality and employment discrimination have been topics of interest and debate in Argentina. The diversity of gender identities faces stigmatization and social rejection, which negatively impacts employment opportunities and self-esteem of transgender people. This study focuses on analyzing public policies and initiatives to improve the labor market insertion of this group, examining their effectiveness and challenges. Development: the study highlights the importance of the Gender Identity Law in Argentina, which has been a pioneer in recognizing self-perception of gender identity without medical or judicial requirements. However, despite these inclusive policies, labor discrimination continues to be a reality for many trans people. There is a lack of official data on their employment situation, which hinders the formulation of effective policies. Initiatives such as work cooperatives managed by trans people, which seek to provide alternatives to prostitution, as well as job training programs, are explored. These measures are valuable, but their effective implementation is a challenge. Conclusions: employment discrimination remains a significant obstacle for trans people in Argentina, despite policies and programs designed to address this issue. The lack of accurate data makes it difficult to evaluate the effectiveness of these policies. To improve the labor market insertion of transgender people, it is necessary to address not only discrimination in the workplace, but also prejudices rooted in society. Education and awareness-raising are key tools in this process. Continued efforts are required to promote gender equality and respect the diversity of gender identities in the workplace in Argentina. This will not only benefit trans people, but will also enrich society as a whole Journal: Community and Interculturality in Dialogue Pages: 28 Volume: 2 Issue: Year: 2022 Subtitle : DOI: 10.56294/cid202228 Handle: RePEc:dbk:commun:v:2:y:2022:i::p:28:id:28 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: María del Valle Rodriguez Title: Gender, gender-based violence and training on the Micaela Law Abstract: Introduction: gender-based violence is a pervasive and underestimated issue worldwide, affecting all societal aspects, including universities. While Argentina has made progress in gender rights, universities still struggle with gender-based violence due to enduring patriarchal structures. Development: gender violence persists in universities, perpetuating androcentric biases in teaching, leadership, and decision-making. The Micaela Law, passed in 2018, mandates gender training for government officials, including universities, aiming to combat this issue. The National University of Avellaneda and others have initiated gender training programs in response to this law. The Inter-University Network for Gender Equality and Against Violence (RUGE), integrated into the National Inter-University Council (CIN), promotes gender equality within universities through policies, strategies, and protocols. Conclusions: implementing the Micaela Law and integrating the gender perspective in universities are essential steps towards fostering inclusive academic environments. Women argue for the right to make decisions about their bodies, emphasizing the potential consequences of denying this right, such as forced motherhood and restricted personal and professional development. Men, too, play a role in the debate, with some supporting women's rights and emphasizing the importance of joint decision-making in relationships.  Development: the historical context of abortion is complex, with different societies and time periods featuring varying views and regulations. From ancient civilizations to modern eras, practices and legal approaches to abortion have evolved. In the Middle Ages, the Catholic Church had a significant impact on abortion regulation, while scientific and medical advancements shaped modern debates. Abortion is defined as the deliberate termination of pregnancy before fetal viability, with legal definitions varying worldwide. Understanding these distinctions is essential to address abortion comprehensively. In Argentina, the historic reform of 2020 marked a significant change in abortion legislation, permitting termination of pregnancy up to 14 weeks without justification. The feminist movement played a crucial role in advocating for this reform, leading to a more inclusive and equitable approach. Despite this progress, challenges remain, including ensuring nationwide access and promoting comprehensive sexual education. Responsible fatherhood involves recognizing men's rights and responsibilities in pregnancy and abortion. Men have the right to receive information, be present during pregnancy and childbirth, and establish custody and visitation arrangements. Emotional support, financial contributions, and active participation in decision-making are also essential aspects. Legislation regarding men's involvement in abortion decisions varies, but a balanced, informed dialogue is encouraged. Conclusions: Argentina's legalization of abortion represents a significant step forward for women's reproductive rights and autonomy. The Law on the Voluntary Interruption of Pregnancy recognizes fundamental rights and guarantees and establishes access to safe and legal abortion services. However, challenges persist in ensuring equal access across the country. The impact on the worker's health is severe; the psychological damage is the first to be registered, with all the progressive symptoms of stress: cognitive disorders - loss of immediate memory, dispersion of attention and concentration, permanent state of alertness, self-reproach, anguish, depression, exhaustion, sensation of unreality, fantasies of annihilation, fragmentation of identity, sleep disorders and conflict with affective relationships and bonds of belonging. The studies analyzed show that the effects of aggression are varied and will depend on the frequency and severity of the episodes and the vulnerability caused by the number of episodes, which cause deterioration in the quality of care, suffering, and illness of those involved, thus affecting not only the personnel involved but also having repercussions on their families and the environment outside the workplace. Therefore, it is essential to investigate and analyze the factors involved in the different situations that arise and thus be able to intervene promptly. Statistics show that violence is more frequent the younger the staff is and more frequent in the case of women. It is also evident that not only age and sex are the factors that have the most significant impact on acts of violence, but other variants, such as nationality, place of work, and position held, influence the moment of being victims of aggression in the work environment Journal: Community and Interculturality in Dialogue Pages: 31 Volume: 2 Issue: Year: 2022 Subtitle : DOI: 10.56294/cid202231 Handle: RePEc:dbk:commun:v:2:y:2022:i::p:31:id:31 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Sandra Milena Sanchez Castellanos Author-Name: Alejandra López Sandoval Title: Rediscovering the original recipe for the “empanada sampedrana” Abstract: This paper points out the rediscovery of a traditional preparation such as the empanada sampedrana, a native dish of the municipality of Sogamoso in the department of Boyacá, based on the knowledge of each of the sogamoseños households that prepare it during the festivities of San Pedro at the end of June. Within the exercise, the reason for its origin and the origin of each one of the ingredients that make it up, as well as the festivity that represents it, are evidenced. The implication of bibliometrics as a science for the construction of scientific knowledge in the different branches of knowledge, especially the social sciences, occupies an important center. Objective: characterize the research published in Scopus referring to cultural studies. Method: a bibliometric analysis was carried out on the articles referring to cultural studies published in the period 2018 – 2023 in journals subscribed to the Scopus database. The SciVal tool was used to collect the information. Bibliometric indicators were analyzed. Descriptive statistics were applied. Results: A total of 169 434 documents were found in the thematic category Cultural Studies, of which 37,9 % were open access, with a trend of increasing scientific production. In the period from 2018 to 2022, researchers worldwide have contributed 3 674 topics on Cultural Studies. A marked concentration of these topics was observed in the area of Social Sciences and Psychology, which is to be expected if one takes into account that these are prominent areas due to their relevance in the study of human interaction and social behavior. The most productive countries were the United States, United Kingdom, Russia, Spain and Australia. On the other hand, with respect to collaboration indicators, 70,5 % of the papers had no collaboration and only 6,9 % of the studies had international collaboration, which is to be expected given that cultural studies are mostly developed in a local or regional context. Conclusions: scientific production in matters of cultural studies showed gradual growth in correspondence with topics of interest to the scientific community. The focus of the studies was located on high-impact journals in correlation with the behavior of the citations received. Current work environments are characterized by an increasing emphasis on knowledge and information-based work. Aim: to describe the dimensions of psychosocial care in the teaching staff as a result of the tensions and changes in the current scenarios of the educational sector. Methods: a qualitative phenomenological documentary study was designed to identify categories of analysis related to the dimensions of psychosocial care of people who work as teachers in the Argentine context. Results: the teaching activity implies important emotional demands that require sustained emotional effort. Academic work requires teachers to interact with a great diversity of actors. Increasing levels of competitiveness with greater demands on the quality of processes and results. Teaching is typified as one of the most stressful occupations due to high cognitive and emotional demands, increasing work overload, conflicting schedules, job instability and difficulties in reconciling academic and family life. Conclusions: the study of psychosocial risks assumes a vital role in universities, where academic professionals constitute their main strategic asset. A systemic knowledge of the work factors that expose academics to greater psychosocial risk is essential for the development of preventive policies and strategies to reduce work demands and/or increase the resources available to cope with them Journal: Community and Interculturality in Dialogue Pages: 35 Volume: 2 Issue: Year: 2022 Subtitle : DOI: 10.56294/cid202235 Handle: RePEc:dbk:commun:v:2:y:2022:i::p:35:id:35 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Camilo Silva-Sánchez Title: Humanized Care for people with HIV/AIDS: an unresolved issue Abstract: There is a concerning increase in HIV infections worldwide. The main risk factors identified were stress (93,15 %) and smoking (73,97 %). Following the intervention, there was a significant increase in disease awareness (97,26 %) and an improvement in blood pressure control, with the majority of patients moving into the partially controlled category (83,56 %) from the uncontrolled category (16,43 %) before the intervention.  Conclusions: Education improved knowledge and control of hypertension Journal: Community and Interculturality in Dialogue Pages: 3 Volume: 1 Issue: Year: 2021 Subtitle : DOI: 10.56294/cid20213 Handle: RePEc:dbk:commun:v:1:y:2021:i::p:3:id:3 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Javier González Argote Title: Navigating the Labyrinth of Communities and Interculturality Journal: Community and Interculturality in Dialogue Pages: 1 Volume: 1 Issue: Year: 2021 Subtitle : DOI: 10.56294/cid20211 Handle: RePEc:dbk:commun:v:1:y:2021:i::p:1:id:1 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Lázaro Ramírez Izquierdo Author-Name: Rubí Torres Zaldívar Title: Evaluation of educational intervention on sexually transmitted diseases in adolescents Abstract: Introduction: insufficient knowledge about Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) among adolescents is a serious problem that requires attention. Sex education is essential to address this problem and promote a healthy relationship with sexuality. Adolescence is a critical stage for establishing behaviors and attitudes, and effective educational programs are critical to improve knowledge and awareness of STIs in this vulnerable population.  Methods: an educational intervention study was conducted to improve STI knowledge in adolescents. The effectiveness of the intervention was evaluated by means of before and after questionnaires, being considered effective if more than 80 % of the sample improved their knowledge.  Results: active sexual life increases the risk of STIs. Education is essential to prevent them, but lack of information and social taboos are obstacles. After an educational intervention, adolescents improved their knowledge, including symptoms, prevention and behavior to follow. This highlights the importance of education in promoting healthy sexuality and prevention.  Conclusions: adolescents have little knowledge about STIs before education, which improves their understanding. Lack of parental information and social taboos contribute to this lack. Adequate understanding of STIs is essential for informed sexual health decisions. Sex education should be a shared responsibility between family, school and health professionals, actively involving adolescents Journal: Community and Interculturality in Dialogue Pages: 7 Volume: 1 Issue: Year: 2021 Subtitle : DOI: 10.56294/cid20217 Handle: RePEc:dbk:commun:v:1:y:2021:i::p:7:id:7 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Michael Ronaldo Lozada Cuervo Author-Name: Verenice Sánchez Castillo Author-Name: Gelber Rosas Patiño Title: The import of panela in the peasant economy of the municipality of San José del Fragua Abstract: Panela production for many years has been the main livelihood of many families in the municipality of San José del Fragua, which is anchored in the department of Caquetá. This market has suffered various effects due to the import activity, which comes from other departments and as a result has had a negative impact on the profitability and production of families. This has triggered a series of disagreements on the part of small and medium-sized producers towards the government, since they have never had significant support with which they can make up for the low income due to the fact that this panela that they import is cheaper and consumers buy it. they prefer it only because the price is more attractive, leaving aside the quality and origin of the product. Therefore, the objective was oriented to identify the reasons why the peasants preferred the imported panela product. Various methods and techniques were used such as: the interview and documentary analysis. As a main result, it was evidenced that the import activity is the main problem faced by the peasants of the municipality of San José del Fragua in the commercialization of panela Journal: Community and Interculturality in Dialogue Pages: 11 Volume: 1 Issue: Year: 2021 Subtitle : DOI: 10.56294/cid202111 Handle: RePEc:dbk:commun:v:1:y:2021:i::p:11:id:11 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Verenice Sánchez Castillo Author-Name: Sandra Camila Narváez Hoyos Author-Name: María Manuela Artunduaga Osorio Title: Agroecological transition from the establishment of Sacha Inchi with the producers of Sacha-Huila Abstract: During the course in the historical development of humanity, it has been verified that the activity of harvesting has promoted social well-being due to the implementation of agriculture. There is a large number of articles in the literature, which confirm the importance that agricultural development has had in the advances of society. In this sense, natural resources must be protected and policies must be established that are aimed at achieving the improvement of individual and collective efforts focused on the preservation of resources that are currently running out. That is why, the agricultural production systems must be modified, so that they achieve their optimization, and in this way, contribute to the sustainable development of the social environment. Therefore, it is proposed as an objective to characterize the process of agroecological transition from the establishment of Sacha Inchi with the producers of SACHA-HUILA. For its achievement, a qualitative analysis was carried out in the study areas taking into account the historicity of the land use and intervention of the territory (social landscape, productive landscape) that finally allowed obtaining preliminary results of the agroecological transition process of the Sacha crop Inchi Journal: Community and Interculturality in Dialogue Pages: 12 Volume: 1 Issue: Year: 2021 Subtitle : DOI: 10.56294/cid202112 Handle: RePEc:dbk:commun:v:1:y:2021:i::p:12:id:12 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Carlos Alberto Gómez Cano Author-Name: Kimberlyn Dahiana Cicery Molina Author-Name: Yuly Noreidi Murcia Robles Title: Effect of Decree 229 on property tax collection in the municipality of Florencia Caquetá during the COVID-19 health emergency Abstract: The article examines the socioeconomic crisis that affected the department of Caquetá and its capital, Florencia, in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with a focus on the unified property tax as a source of revenue for the municipality. Taxes in Colombia are categorized and the relevance of the property tax as a crucial source of local revenues is highlighted. The methods for calculating the rural property tax are discussed and land productivity is considered. The collection of municipal taxes in Colombia, especially the property tax, is analyzed, along with its history and regulation. The study used surveys, interviews and information search. The results indicate an increase in collection in 2020 due to Decree 229, but also point to a lack of awareness of its benefits among taxpayers. The municipal administration considers that the decree had a positive impact Journal: Community and Interculturality in Dialogue Pages: 13 Volume: 1 Issue: Year: 2021 Subtitle : DOI: 10.56294/cid202113 Handle: RePEc:dbk:commun:v:1:y:2021:i::p:13:id:13 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Yolanda Price Author-Name: Sharon Gillett Author-Name: Gloria Lennen Title: Educational intervention for the reduction of intestinal parasitism in children under 5 years of age.
